Success is the best revenge. Work out. Be hot. Build yourself up emotionally, physically, spiritually, intellectually, etc. Trust me she doesn’t deserve you & you shouldn’t get back w. her. Use your anger as motivation to improve yourself and move forward with your life. In time you WILL find a girl worthwhile. Good luck. Be strong! & I agree w. everyone that you should NOT put yourself in a situation where you are merely second best. She wants to be w. this guy for now & keep you on the back burner for later. NO WAY. You’re better than that! Be strong! You can do it! It’s been done before. Hopefully you build your self esteem up to the point that you realize she isn’t worth any type of hassle. Good luck :]

i dont agree w. most everyones posts. You have sex on a regular basis I assume… so what’s so special about her doing what you normally do anyway on your bday? No effort. She could have made you something or bought you a little something… or baked you a little something.. or written you a little something. SOMETHING. Or have been extra sweet… done small things for you. Doesn’t have to be big. I think what you spent on her is irrelevant. Do not give someone something expecting them to give YOU something of equal value. Give from your heart w.out expecting reciprocity. I def think she took the easy way out & I’m a girl. Unless she has financial difficulties she didn’t want you to be aware of? Although this seems unlikely as she found enough to spare on a friend. What would bother me is that she didn’tput any effort- not how much she did or did not spend. At least sex somewhere difft. like the beach or soemthinggg idk..talk to her and tell her you felt a little overlooked on your special day & how seeing her put more time and effort into someone else made you feel & see what she says i suppose. go from there. good luck.

As step said, “be firm”. Don’t say “I never date co-workers” unless you mean it. What if a guy gets hired that yr actually into & you go for it, then you’re a hypocrite & a liar. Anyway, you don’t want him in that sense regardless so he needs to know it. If I were you, I’d just be honest with him and tell him what you told us. Add that while you value him on a platonic level, your decision as far as a relationship is final and that you’d hope he can respect that. Also, your co-workers should grow up. I’m sure they mean it all in good fun, probably doing so partially out of boredom, but someone’s feelings are at stake here. If all goes well, and he agrees, don’t end the conversation there. Talk about other topics and joke. A sense of humor can go a long way & he’ll see that you’re serious about continuing your friendship without any awkwardness. Leave the past in the past & move forward.
