  My sympathies are with you.. I went through practically this very thing a couple of months ago, you can see all the great advice people offered me in the thread about my dog being put down. I don’t know there is an awful lot you can do to speed up the healing process, but time has really helped me along. I still feel sad about it, and the pangs of longing don’t really get any easier to deal with, but as much as possibly just be thankful that it was quick and that you didn’t have to see your beloved pet in agony or pain. You’re in my thoughts, and Tiki is probably now in the same place as my lovely Zak is, playing together and running free and happy.

  Hey there,
  You may be going through a teenage phase as someone has mentioned, or this may be part of a deeper problem. How long can you remember feeling like this? If this goes back for more than a year, or you can see things in your childhood that also seem to indicate you’re not happy with the current sex you are, you could be have gender identity confusion.

  Unfortunately and fortunately that is basically the way it is. Even if you don’t realise it, you’ve helped me a lot today! My pessimistic streak has turned a little more hopeful and I have a few ideas I can try to improve my situation. It’s nice sometimes just to have someone listen to you and validate your opinion!!

  Eep, help.com ate my last post. Anyway, I mentioned briefly that I was good friends with my boyfriend’s friends, however over the last 4 months, they’ve chosen drugs over our friendship. Obviously this has been hard on my boyfriend, and I feel like because I adopted his friends as my own, hard on me too. This kinda lends itself to neither of us having any outlet except each other and I learnt from my past relationship that I really desire to have more independence when I’m with someone - and I KNOW that I alone am the only one who can make that happen, I just have trouble finding where to start.
  
  We do communicate openly - this week out of the 5 months we’ve been together has probably been the worst, and I know it’s because we’re both sick and struggling with the same things. I think I just need some time apart from the situation so I can go back into it with a clear head and sort things out between us. I need to work out what it is about the relationship that is bothering me so we can work through it, which I know we will, because we do have no trouble talking about things (besides when we’re sick it seems!!). It’s a nice contrast to my last relationship in which there was practically no communication.

  Yeah, that’s it.. the thing is, my boyfriend is kind of in the same boat as I am. His group of friends, whom I was friends with, have decided to choose drugs over friendship, and have more or less separated themselves from us. I think this is why I’m feeling kind of suffocated - neither of us have many other outlets besides each other and I’ve learnt from my first relationship that I really desire more independence when I’m with someone. Hopefully, possibly, I can lead by example, and try and find another group of friends.. so much to try and juggle with so little experience in the big wide ‘real world’. It’s a scary place, that’s for sure!
