I’ve always had a bad habit of picking scabs even when I was little. I think that’s all it is a bad habit unless you are intending to further hurt yourself.

It will leave scars just like self injury. I too was once a self-injurer.

There are a lot of programs out there that help the impoverished. You might try legal aid, the Waterfront Rescue Mission, and possibly applying for things like food stamps and HUD. If you can use a computer to make this post then you should be able to access resources about these programs.

I’ll be the first to admit that sometimes all the political correctness is a little ridiculous. What I would ask you is are you white, black, hispanic? Are you offended when people call you cracker, call you mexican when you’re actually from Cuba? I think some of the political correctness is a sign of tolerance and human growth. Any thoughts?

Wow, that’s a lot of money for a mission trip. If you want to make more money, I recommend you learn a skill, like computers or some kind of labor or something. The earlier you start making more money the better. I’m 22 and I’m right now babysitting like I was in high school. If you want to do something out of the ordinary, go hot air ballooning, join a bowling league, go rock climbing, become a roller coaster enthusiast. I know it’s hard to do any of these things without money. I suffered from depression in high school and still do today. You just have to push yourself and make sure you have some people who truly care about you and want to support you emotionally. Good luck.
