I hear a LIBERAL commentator today say that the tea baggers represented 10% of the electorate and that the occupiers rep’d about 3%.
Seems to me if we could just get the Wall Street assholes prosecuted and pass a bill limiting congress to 2 terms, half of our problems would be solved.
Of course, they’ll never vote to limit their own terms or benefits. It’ll take a real revolution to accomplish that.
As you may have read, I was really struck by the death of Steve Jobs for reasons I can’t explain very well, since before he died I never paid much attention to him except in the form of his products, and their beautiful design (especially lately). You probably weren’t. I know other people who were too.
I’m kinda hose either way, participating or not. Ironically, whether or not you want to admit it, the tea baggers and the wall street occupiers have something in common. Both are pissed off at those who pull the strings in politics. And both will be co-opted by the 2 corrupt political parties.
I’m happy about some of the videos I’ve seen about Occupy Wall Street. In my town it is pretty lame and tame. Tame is good. Lame is not. But I should blame myself that I have not gone to try to make it unlame.
My computer is almost completely dead, and I was just checking during one of the remaining erratic moments that it will actually come on at all (failing logic board). New computer has been ordered. Hope it isn’t too glitzy.
Ha ha!! I was slightly “heartened” to see that Ron Paul came in second, only because I like SOME of his ideas. But I don’t understand how anyone can take Michelle Bachman (sp?) seriously at all. I’m really glad to see Sarah’s numbers have gone down. What’s going to become of us I wonder.
Hm. Is there a female word for manscaping? Enjoyed bumping into you. Do you remember when we used to exchange chats for hours it seemed? Anyway I have to be up in 5 hours. Night, Florie. I have to be up EARLY.
I just looked at your name and thought that’s how I am here a lot, sort of unleashed (in a minor way), and kind of uncouth and really not very nice - plus, picky! It’s lucky I’m hiding here under my haystack.
Sounds like a lovely evening. I watched the premiere of “Falling Skies”. Not bad. Stars Noah Wylie who used to be on ER. I’m working regularly, but it’s very manual, so I’m up early and not here much. My son is driving now.
I saw your exchange w/Blest from about 10 hours ago re: insurance. He’s very irritating but is a good guy. I, too, thought I was omniscient at his age.
I’ve been having a nice evening here. My living room lights are off, and I was going to sit in there, just out of sight of the street lamp, in the leafy shadows.
