2008-03-17 20:14:55 on I am having a tug of war with my conscience.
this is not your conscience — but what you want and you need to figure that out bro.
It’s perfectly reasonable of her to want to know if you are with her or not, and also reasonable of her to say she’ll leave if you have sex with anyone else.
YOU need to figure out where you stand and then act on that — if you want random tail more than her — that is ok — you just need to upfront and leave. Otherwise step and commit.
What exactly have you changed so far?
I don’t see any change other than the site lagging alot.
Nothing yet. Lag is something I’m working on — Give me time — I’ve only just started my Monday.

Ok, going to sleep — i’ll do another round of reading tomorrow, close this thread and start a series of smaller threads with more specific topics.
Thanks for the great feedback — a lot for me to chew on.

I don’t know who you are referencing — but I will not tolerate any mods ruining the site for anyone else.
Religion is always a touchy subject — but I want to foster a healthy debates — which means people of faith need to be respectful of those who don’t believe, and vice versa — a more clear set of rules will go up about debates on “hot topics”.
Hi, thanks for the info, and for the help on the board.
My question is what will happen to the Christians on here, up until now, we have had a mighty hard time. We have to take all kinds of abuse, with many being run completely off the board, by groups that are Anti-Christian, and mods that detest Christians.
We are here to help, we do not push anyone to do anything, we try to offer all sorts of help, including our faith, if anyone is interested. We try to share love, in every way we can, and still we are constantly threatened by at least 3 of the mods.
I do not believe that the original intent of the board was to be Anti-Christian, however, that is what is happening now, for the most part. I think the Tos was designed to keep anyone from being pushy, mean and rude, and to expect everyone to respect the right of each poster to determine what faith, if any they choose.
But, the way it is now, we have to be extremely careful, or be put completely off the site. I do not feel this is right at all, and sincerely hope that it will change. I think we should have the freedom to share the faith that has worked for us, and if the poster is not interested, then that is fine, move on to someone else.
Faith has turned many of us around completely, and has become a guiding light for us, how can it be right, to not be able to share that with ones that are hurting so badly?
You can read my posts and see how much time and effort and consideration, that I have put in each one, however, I am under two threats…. I think the third time I am banned. The last time I was threatened, was for saying something to someone in their shout box, which was in no way rude, yet, becasue she had changed her name, I was somehow supposed to know that, and was ordered to stay out of her shout box, and if she choose to change her name again, the burden was on me, to figure this out, or if, I made the mistake of posting in her shout box… I would be banned.
I think this is utterly ridiculous, and nothing is fair about it.
I sincerely hope that you can bring some much needed relief to the people of faith, that grace this board.
I enjoy coming here to offer what ever help that I can, but, could surely do without the threats and abuse.
Sincerely, Gayla S.

OK, seeing as we’ve got an appropriate segue way, I would like to reiterate my desire for a Extraordinarily Helpful Helper trophy. Mods get stars and Admins get shields, so I think that users - particularly me - should have the opportunity to get some bling as well. Ok, that’s it.
Thanks and welcome to the community, Yousef!
Also agreed — on their way.
I think that posts that are “inappropriate” should be labeled as “adult” posts instead of simply being deleted as most of them seem to be…thats what irks me.
I also agree with that.
Yourabi: One idea is greater support for regionalization. Currently there is but one grand list of questions that scrolls through; it’d be nice to also see what’s being asked geographically. Thus help questions (and answers) could be tailored for the region; thus questions like “Where’s the best place to find trousers in Stumptown?” need not bother non-residents.
Agreed — also on the todo list is language internationalization
Yay :) Go Admins!
I think we should have clearer rules and such, to stop all the arguing and what not that goes on.
And wilkommen!
Yes, clearer rules, and more transparency into the mod/admin side of things is on the way — stay posted.
I like your openness to answering questions and your candid way of communicating.
I would like to see the site be a little more geared towards the actual helping part, not only a way to make new friends and online cliques, as it seems it might be geared toward with the ‘friends list’ and chat etc.
Although I might ask a question another user has posed: Do you think you’ll be able to keep up with improving the site as well as all the maintenance that is requred.. The last admin didnt seem to be able to.
It will be tough — no doubt — and I might have to reach out to YOU (the users) for help with QA and testing
Yourabi: I’d like to have the option to turn off the auto-censorship. By default, of course, it should be on - but established users should be able to see anything they like.
I’m somewhat in favor of this, but we’ll eventually setup polls/voting for features and their timelines.

YES! That’s what I want, and why I started this thread. I want YOU(all) to have a big say in the direction of help

There would be no better change than that!!!

I welcome change when it is postive. It just makes me nervous when the powers that be seem to be avoidig questions, no offense yourabi. I am sure you are a nice guy and just doing your job.
How am I avoiding questions? I’m announcing the beginning of the discussion — not the end.
It would be nice if you could tell us when we will be getting more info. I am not trying to be rude. I am just very curious! :)
Above, I already mentioned I’d be giving more details either this week or next. That will be purely informational, and will outline thoughts and potential dates.
