Your “helpadmin” is a waste of space. Not only has he/she done nothing at all to help this website (apart from broken a few things). He/she has just demodded someone and then left again, not doubt for what…another 7 months?
I appreciate you are personally too busy to help but this isn’t just about a website, its about peoples lives. Please give us all a break and appoint a well respected regular user round here some power to help out.
Please do something, your admin is running wild and there has also been fears his account has been comprimised which is why a few ’suspect’ actions have taken place.
Yourabi,
I made a report but fear it was not found, basically an ex-mod told me yesterday (not sure if in confidence so please remove this shout when you read it) that she had everyone’s IP Address before she was banned and that today she was going to track everyone’s IP Address, she said she wrote it down for future reference.
In your new job, try not being passive aggressive. Your answers (the few that come) are always condescending. You are no better than anyone else, at best.
Good luck sir and enjoy having less headaches hehe. You never told me if you ever saw that movie I recommended to you.
I hope now that you are no longer too responsible for this site you may just visit as a client. If so I look forward to hearing from you. Smoogie.
If you are leaving..I wish you well:) I believe you have done a very good job. The site has been education for me and I satisfied with it’s operation:) Later stay, in touch:)
Hahahaha! I have been reading your last “few” shouts… I thought of you giving you my own views concerning the reasons why so many of our good “helpers” have been leaving. But after reading all of this, well, I suppose there isn’t much to add.
I’m just happy you’ve decided to fix a few important broken elements on this website. THANK YOU!
Just one thing though… Please, oh please choose your mods carefully!!
That’s all I’m really concerned about for now.
I suppose I owe you an apology. It seems as though I was a little impetuous with some of the words I said against you. I understand that you rarely answer people here unless they’re an old friend of yours, or either you trust their sincerity. So if you never decide to respond to my messages than I will not feel offended. I am just glad that you helped the site and answered our requests.
Hi Yourabi….We have never met, but I just needed to say thank you so much. I’ve noticed that the reply/views thing is back, as are the avatar histories!!! That is just tooo cool. So thank you again, and please keep up the good work….*smiles* Edie
well, apparently my peoples is unhappy, and buy out or not, cut backs or not, Democrat, Republican, white, black, red or dead, this great nation was founded on principles of hard work and sticking to it till the jobs done.
I forgot my point, but you get it..as for the Mods, there are like 23 of them that never do anything. poke your head in a little bit, hell, make a post telling everyone it will be alright. I run a fairly large business, and sometimes all it takes is for everyone, workers, customers, vendors, to know you are paying attention.
I’m really not trying to make trouble. I’m not a hysterical person. If you speak with mods about me, I would think they would say that my posts and replies are one of the more stabilizing voices on help. Your and my interactions have only been a couple of times, and I think we both may have gotten misleading impressions.
Users here including me have no idea of what goes on behind the scenes and have no right to know. Every person though deserves to at least know that their question was heard, even if a satisfactory answer is not possible.
My impression now is that you are not personally responsible for the ills of the site. I’m willing to drop my complaints and butt-out of the many conversations concerning how it is run, if you are also willing to give me the benefit of the doubt as well.
Thanks for fixing chat and for working on helpbot. And mostly for answering shouts today. More than anything else, I think we just need to know that we are being heard.
sorry if you don’t already know this tags is not working therefore helpbot is not working could you fix this please, because I have come accross numerous suicidal posts where helpbot has not showed up until I edited the tags for him to come, just thought that it is an important feature of help.com
Email if you feel more comfortable. Elitehomedelivery at live.com is my correct addy. I am serioius about this. I see on the admin list that most of them do not come around much anymore, and I am in a position to help…thats a pun, by the way
I hate to say this, but i would be willing to (Shudders) go to vol mod status, and actually check in on a regular basis, say everyday at 10am and 7pm my time…
apparently something is wrong, and people are sad..cant have sad puppies on the internet!
This is pitiful. You’re not competent or even willing enough to manage this site. Do you realize what has even transpired over the past few months? Oh wait you probably have no idea am I right? Or maybe, just maybe you have an idea but are pretending to be somewhere else? These people here have complained until it has become absurdly intolerant for them. No wonder they’re leaving help.com. They refuse to suffer from your ineptitude and tolerate anymore asinine ignorance on your behalf. Your last sign of credible activity was two months ago. It has been TWO full months, and you haven’t made any type of effort on servicing this place or the people inhabiting it. Congratulations, you’ve succeeded at turning this place into a dysfunctional travesty.
hello, I have never really talked to you before, or even introduced myself, however unneeded an introduction may be on a site with our names plainly visible.
I have recently noticed a severe drop in moderation and, with that, quite the rise in troll posts.
I know you are a busy person and all, but as the admin of the site, you are the only one here who can do much of anything. So I am here asking that you look into acquiring some new mods to help clean up the trash here.
There are several people whom would love to be mods, and most I believe to be willing and able to do a great job.
It is not difficult to find them,
most are almost screaming “moderator” if not actually saying it. http://help.com/post/233990-who-do-yo…
is a post i would like to bring to your attention, as it is containing several people who I believe to be able to do a good job. I will not name any one, because that would seem rather strange and I don’t want to get in the way of your decisions.
I hope you can take some new mods into consideration and perhaps people will come back, and stop making their own versions of this site just to keep the same people in the environment, but with less trolls and trash.
this is a big site, with an easy to find name, trolls will always be around, but a mod force can just as easily keep them quiet.
was this all in your plans, or have you given up here?
~Alphaknight
I’m really sorry to be adding to your woes given you seem to have a pile of stuff needing your attention already but if you’ve got a moment, I’d appreciate you having a quick look at this post:
I was wondering if it’s possible to have an ignore function added to the site? It could take a lot of pressure off mods to have to deal with spammers and “a” troll

So you can fuckrightoff and I never liked you anyway - I only tolerated you as you spent your entire time with your head stuck up the other Mods backsides. There are a couple of people like you on this site. They think that the fact they have managed to survive here and become long-term users means they should get an Oscar. Face it - you are a nasty, mean piece of work but I’ll tell you something you pathetic freak - hiding behind your ugly little avatar. You wouldnt say it to my face - Mas

hello yourabi. I know you probably don’t know about me too well, but a while back I made a post about what some improvements should be here on help.com. i know this is a big post, but I think there are some really good ideas in there
Hello Yourabi,
I hope you are OK, and I am pleading with you on behalf of help.com to get more moderators we have three mods at the moment all of which are very busy and don’t be here often, please help.
I just wanted to say that anubis has his own best interest in mind to destroy help.com (via bitching and moaning) because of some site he became a mod in. i found it to be funny, and now im passing the lulzings on to you. I hope the new site is as good as it should be.

As I posted as an anon (trying to calm things down) and myself, I used reasoned argument in an attempt to show that people an any site have the right to set their own standards. In return I expected reasoned argument but was met with abuse, xenophobic abuse and bullying from certain members. I reported the replies but nothing was done.
I am absolutely appalled that I was bullied in this way by a CNET site. I am considering making a formal complaint to CNET. Your comments please.
Hmmm… actually I was reading on your blog about cloud computing, and I had the idea that you could take this even further.
With viruses, bacteria, and the entire idea of evolution and adaptation there are several strains of things.
This is likely how the idea of different kernels of Linux work, but what if we could apply it on a smaller basis?
In the code I write for many programs, I try to incorporate as many useful features as is reasonably possible, I always prefer ease of use in any program I am using.
Still, I miss some ideas. I have sent it to others, and they change the code and send it back. the problem with this is that there gets to be a lot of versions of the code that builds a program floating around, and then a lot of work is lost. If you could, however, as each new strand of code is created, determine what directions are good, and what are bad, and control the overall direction of where the work is going: you could achieve the best features far more easily than simply letting each kernel and strand of the code go its own way.
The way you could do this is if you continually test the new ideas in a large environment to determine what has flaws and what does not. It would take a lot of insight to see a system that could achieve this, but I believe it would be possible.
I think cloud computing could help here… it connects the ways to test this software just as much as it could connect the ways to develop it.
Anyway, I’m shouting you this to take your mind off of the annoying shouts of users like me…(and others in your shout box)
hehe.
i don’t like shouting at you without responses though, so please give me a shout back.
