I applaud you for letting your son go. My son, a 25-year-old college graduate, wanted to enter the service, but he was eventually disqualified because of a juvenile record. I was disappointed for him, because he wanted it so badly, but the disapointment was overshadowed by my relief. Keeping my mouth shut while he went through that process was one of the hardest things I ever did. (I did register my concerns, once, then I held my peace.) You’re a good mom.
