Cost of living up here is worse than it is down south but a lot of that is the property tax, since you wont be owning any land you can avoid that. If your looking for a used truck then it depends, most of the decent ones usually run around a few thousand but that varies and you can find them cheaper if you look long enough new trucks wont differ much from the price down there. The big extra cost in vehicles is snow tires. Apartments vary from one end of town to the other, but base price for a one bedroom I’d say would be around 750 a month, average is gong to be closer to like 850. if your making 57,000 a year I think you can get by just fine up here. Might have to budget a bit but not too excesively.

thanks for responding.. Yes im looking more for cost of living. most important utilities, groceries are there any hidden fees that might not pop up while looking for apartments, such as snow removal. I would deffenitly have to get use to the cold that im not worried about. Just more on the search for the finanical part of it. I would be making 57,000 a year up there and not sure if thats gonna get me through.

Sure what do you want to know? Basic info is that Anchorage is the biggest city in AK, but has low population density making it a big place. Cold and dark in the winter, that being August through April/May depending on the year. Most people are friendly enough though. It is beautiful here in the summer which is a huge plus. If there is anything more specific you want to know then ask and I’ll get back to you as quick as I can.
