• Do speedometers and odometers measure vector quantities or do they measure scalar quantities?
  

  Scalar only, to be a vector quatity, it would have to have a direction as well as magnitude.

• When is the average speed of an object not equal to its average velocity?
  

  Yuck, Physics. I just finished a physics test today. Let’s see, speed differs from velocity in that speed does not indicate a direction. Also, speed deals with the total distance covered in a certain amount of time, while velocity deals with the displacelment during a certain time. So if you go three feet left, then six feet right, your distance traveled is nine feet, but your total displacement is only three feet.

  As for a major, I’m looking into Anthropology and/or Journalism. My aunt and uncle both went to Grinell and I’ve been looking into it to some extent, but there are just so many choices out there!

  I live in Michigan, and yes, I am willing to move. Since I would want to go to a smaller, probably private school, I hope to avoid the scary out-of-state charges. I apologize for the lack of information. I was actually in the act of searching for schools when I happened upon this site, so I thought I’d give it a go.
