  This is a common problem I think. (I know I’m not really a similar age being 18 but I hope I’m close enough). Is it that it feels awkward now you’re together, whereas before you were just friends? Have you just run out of things to say? Try doing more things together - cinema, sports, whatever, defintately kills long silences and gives you something to talk about :)

  I can’t imagine that your parents would cut you off! Obviously I don’t know them or you, but if they knew how you were living (ie not eating and thinking about suicide) I’m sure they would want to help! Whatever you do wrong, parents always love you! I’m sure they’ll be angry and no it won’t be easy, but you need support at this time!
  Try writing them a letter, make it clear you’re not asking for money at this time - just support from people who love you so you can get back on your feet. You sound very lonely, so I think even though I’m not religious, that a church or something similar would be good for you in the short term, especially if you cant talk to your parents just yet. They might be able to give you some real advice too about where to go for financial issues. This is a big problem for students today, I’m in my first year and although my situation is nothing like yours, I know I’m leaving with at least £20k of debt! You are not alone, there is a solution somewhere. I’m only sorry I can’t give it to you! Good luck Anon :)

  Thanks, I think I’ll cancel barbeque and running, I don’t need to do those things and I think it’s gonna rain anyway. I’ll feel bad for missing running, but it’s not like I’m enjoying free breathing right now.
  I’ve heard there is something that can be installed that turns hard water into soft, but if we do get that I doubt it will be for a while, my Dad died in May so our house is a bit upside at the moment anyway.
  
  Just read the post about your husband - I hope you and your son are ok. I hope the two of you can get away form time to time, even just going for a long walk or going to the cinema.

  Yes, legally. They are a couple just like a man is with a woman. They should be able to have the same legal partnership. But I am not religious and therefore cannot speak for the church, so I don’t know about church weddings. Not my place to say.

  You can’t stop yourself falling in love or being in love! You clearly love her very much, so don’t give up. As daisydaisy said about her being cautious, I think she’s probably just scared it’s not quite real, so taking it slow. Sounds like you’re getting all the right signs though!
  I don’t think you have a reason to worry, just wait it out! Your story is very inspirational, to go from losing everything to climbing right back. I wish you every success, you deserve it :)

  She might not be bothered about the shoes at all, people often fly off the handle about ridiculous things right? It’s called displacement, like if you’ve had a bad History class and want to shout at a teacher, you can’t so you go home and take it out on a little brother, for example. Just cos they’re annoying anyway, so you have an excuse. So your friend might be having issues with something else but can’t deal with it, so all that emotion got transfered to getting annoyed about a pairt of shoes. She probably was annoyed about it a little, but just let emotions about whatever else get the better of her.
  Try talking to her, ask her how school/work (dunno how old you guys are) and life at home is going. Even if you don’t find out what bothered her so much the chat should smooth out some animosity at least! I used to get angry at my best friend for completely stupid things, like not returning a pencil, cos I having a bad patch with my parents - suddenly everything was all right if she or someone else just asked how things were!
  Hope your friend has calmed down now and they better be pretty nice shoes :P
