Go to the library and get a book on writing a business plan.
Writing the plan is a pain in the neck, but it will also help you to focus on the reality of your business… to really spell out what you think you can realistically do.
Then you can set up a meeting with a banker to present your plan.
If it is a decent plan, you still may have to visit several bankers.
Be tenacious.
And another thing - the guy sticks his to fingers up to the music business whenever he can, the last album was given away free with one of the Sunday newspapers to annoy them. And what about the time he stopped putting out CD’s with his name on them and adopted a symbol to represent his name instead?
Yeah, the symbol thing… he said the record label wouldn’t let him do some of the creative things he wanted or something… so the symbol came out as a result… until his contract was up or something… fuzzy on the details, but still… I kind of admire that, he didn’t want to sacrifice his art just to make the record label happy.
I love his old stuff. I have never been able to get into anything he has recorded in the last 15, or so years. About 2 years ago I saw him in concert. This was the second time, I believe the first time was around 1990. He seems to be a man who does not age.
Definitely does not seem to age.
I saw an interview with him on some PBS show awhile back. He said he has just kind of “evolved” over time, and has taken some of his fan base with him, and has lost some.
I must admit… I do listen to a lot of the older stuff. LOTS and lots of good gooey memories… holy cow.

Huh, yeah, I see what you’re saying. Not a Doppelganger, for sure, but I see the resemblance.

Ah yes, now you’re talkin’!
I was having trouble with “3121,” but it grew on me.

And no, I don’t like prince, his music is just a little blah for my taste.
Hmm… I am unfamiliar with “Neighbours” — time to Google, BRB.

Indeed, Champaign rocks! It’s the only place to live out here, in my opinion, other than Chicago.
2008-06-26 14:14:55 on What are good self-motivation techniques?
Imagine you just got out of prison, after spending a couple years there.
You have been told what to do, when to do, and how to do it for the past year… now you have your freedom.
Does that help? Can you imagine?
2008-06-26 14:09:19 on Is it alright to date and love and married man?
If this “man” will lie and cheat on his wife…
What makes you think he won’t lie and cheat on you?
There’s no question… he is not worth your time.
2008-06-26 14:01:54 on I hate lying, but since I’ve been married.
The lying thing is tough. It’s easy to think “Just this one little lie, then it won’t happen again, everything will be fine.” but that’s not how it works out.
Lying is bad, but him saying he’d just leave… that is a problem, too.
I don’t suppose counseling is an option? Many guys won’t agree to do that… and think “nothing’s wrong.” Perhaps your man is a real man and will meet you in the middle?
2008-06-26 13:55:31 on MAN, I’m plagued with boredom!
Well go hang with him, then. I mean that’s like a given, right? Enjoy your movie.
2008-06-26 13:54:37 on why do people…
I’ve read some studies that suggest there is some evolutionary thing or whatnot… something about a person’s looks that suggests “good breeding stock” or whatever. So there *might* be some built-in basis for it.
The media is huge, though. Like, my wife doesn’t shave her armpits or legs, and lots of people think that’s gross, but I’m like… what’s gross about that? They just think that because the media wants to sell razors and Nair and Neet and stuff… there is this perception that a woman with hair is “not right” or gross.
What would mother nature say? Well darn… she’s the one that put the hair there in the first place!
Everyone is beautiful, for real.
The problem is, it is difficult to ignore the bad things people might say, the bad things people do. Those people aren’t worth your time, but some times you can feel trapped.
I hope things look up for you…
2008-06-26 13:50:39 on MAN, I’m plagued with boredom!
Thinking, thinking…
If I were a bored person… what would I do?
Hmm…
Read?
Write?
Watch a movie?
Take a walk?
The thing is, you totally have to be in the right mood for those things, or it’s just more boredom.
Boy, I am just a huge help. :D
2008-06-26 13:47:53 on Do you think people should have cosmetic surgery to enhance their looks?
Yeah, forget about it.
Think about something you *can* change naturally, like if you wish you were stronger or something… then you can start walking every day or working out. That will totally make you feel better anyway… after the soreness wears off… totally can improve your outlook!
Seriously!
2008-06-26 13:44:48 on MAN, I’m plagued with boredom!
