  Ok, thanks meisabelep, Pink Freud, and The Sherlockian. I am scheduled to start seeing a new therapist in a couple of days so I will speak to him about it. I was just wondering if there was some sort of guided meditation technique that could help me clear any possible fake memories and see what’s left.

  If you have the courage, you should try giving some of these notes to strangers who you think are having a tough time. I’ve seen passerbys on the subway who I can tell are distressed over something in their life or crying silently. I wish I was brave enough to go up to them and talk to them, offer them a helping hand or word of encouragement. Writing a quick note of encouragement and giving it to them is a great idea!

  Are kids really that aware at 1? Supposing for example it was a one off molestation incident by a respected authority in the child’s life, but not the primary caregiver(s). (It could have perhaps been a recurring thing, but let’s assume a one off for now.) And supposing the child has no recollection whatsoever as an adult that he/she suffered this incident.
  
  This child cum adult has tried and tried to recollect but does not. However, when this adult thinks about the possibility of having experienced a sexual trauma as a child, there’s a sinking feeling in the pit of his/her stomach, as if even though there is no memory of the incident there is an emotional memory or psychological impression of something terrible having happened. The same is true of whenever this adult has been asked by multiple therapists whether he/she was sexually abused as a child. This adult has always answered in the negative for he/she has no recollection, but it’s almost as if some really deep-seated part of this adult’s psyche knows or suspects something happened.
  
  On top of it, this adult has intimacy issues which developed at the age of 13. I know intimacy issues can arise from a multitude of factors, but I would imagine that sexual trauma can be one such factor, right? So based on all I presented here, is it possible or even plausible that this adult may have suffered sexual trauma as a child?

  I never knew shorthand was a writing/stenography system until reading this post and doing some googling. It looks cool. I’m sure it’s not dead completely. Scanning the Wikipedia article on it, it seems to be in decline but not dead. My suggestion is to try and learn it, if you are interested in it. Even if you aren’t a journalist or take down dictations, you can still employ it in everyday use. Especially in situations where you don’t want someone else to be able to read what you wrote.

  Chev.jame, yes this is true - Canada has a unified military, called the Canadian Armed Forces. I guess the US still has them as separate branches, all reporting separately to the president?
