  why couldn’t you just say that to your friend, rather than making your mom’s life more frustrating and miserable? she gave you an alternative, which is better than nothing, and you would take it if you really wanted to hang out with your friend.
  
  you might think you’re so independent, but you’re not. you are dependent upon her, and she’s may not realize that you think you’re old and mature and independent, ect.
  she lectures you because she wants for you to turn out good. she’s trying to teach you. try to see things from your mother’s point of view, rather than throwing a ***** fit because things don’t always go your way.
