❤]One step in front of the other…. keep looking for other jobs - remember we’re in a recession - but be persistent - se a careers advisor/ counsellor to fine tune your applications and CV. Have a 1:1 with your boss voice your concerns in a diplomatic way and/ or search for things you do enjoy about work and take it day by day knowing it’s not forever. Find some free/ inexpensive interests outside work to help you get through each day, use positive affirmations to get you through each morning. And breath…you’ll get there just remember to keep your head up high and keep putting one foot in front of the other… here are some posts to help you:
hmm, distance from work to house?
can you think about articles while walking?
from work to home is 15 min drive. i walk towards my dad after work though so i get tiny bit of exercise. for articles, i have to find three websites and get info from that and write my own version of article with a mixture of the websites and in my own words of course.
no time to exercise? do you get a lunch break?
yes but i go home for lunch with my hubby. it’s about the only time we have together during the week. i work days, he works nights :( this is my typical schedule during the week: Mon work 8-5, go home, shower, tidy up house, shower, eat, write articles, sleep. fun huh?
exercise? breathing? bath?
no bathtub just shower :( i don’t have time to exercise except 15 min after work. i work 8-5 mon to fri and then i write articles at night for extra money. exhausting.
that’s not fair, can see why it bugs you. can you transfer somehow?
no it’s a single family owned company. nowhere to transfer. i look up jobs available around here every day for me and my hubby and nothing! i don’t know what to do. i’ve been having chest pains too. too too much stress.
2011-05-02 09:18:33 on I feel really down.
thanks. i try really hard at my job but it’s never good enough ya know? everything was fine til my coworker was hired about a year and a half ago. favorites became more obvious. they definitely favor her to me big time. if she makes mistakes or asks too many questions, no biggie. if i do, my job is threatened! i still might lose my job. they nitpick at me as much as possible. now my boss and coworker are good friends and i’m even more of an outcast and treated crappier than ever.
I think your avatar says a lot about you.
Of course, we all have low points and you may be dealing with one.
However, you are working, you are well, you have food and shelter and no one
is bothering you.
So, you just a need a quick out. Think about going for a walk or a bike ride;
exercise helps the body, which in turn helps the mind. Think about visiting a
friend or family member; getting in touch helps you to focus on the big picture
and what’s really important. Lastly, realize that you are not alone; you said “we”
above, so there is/are someone(s) in your life; moreover, you came here and others
responded. You can do this; I’m sure.
thanks. i am going to my best friend’s house after work to watch a movie. And yes, I have my hubby. He’s the best :)
This will pass. It’s the most horrible thing that can happen but it won’t last forever. Whatever happens, what EVER happens, try to only do what feels exactly right to YOU. Follow your heart. Keep a distance from those people at work, don’t let their words get into your head, concentrate only on the tasks and treat anything else said as a radio with a broken power switch. Don’t give up on finding another job… Never, ever give up on yourself, you know who you are, you know your value is a given, nobody can take that away from you, not even you with your deteriorating confidence… You are worth the world and more, you are the world, and you don’t end at money or work or morning commute, you are more than that and than you know. Just see what you feel you need and want most and go for it, prioritize, you will get out of this and you’ll be better than ever.
awww thanks :) i appreciate that. sorry i didn’t write earlier. internet stopped working.
