  While I’ll sometimes make jokes to my friends along the lines of ‘it’s not like I’m going to mug you’, I don’t think this was the same way. He’s showing classical possessive signs towards you, followed by an obviously angry/bitter attitude, suggesting he feels unreasonably betrayed by you, either because of what you said to your friends or in general. You need to tell him, point blank, how you feel… but not by inviting him over to your house. Take him aside at school during lunch or something, somewhere there’s people around in case he gets upset.
  
  Even if he doesn’t hurt you, it’ll give you somewhere to go if you feel uncomfortable; if he shows any kind of inappropriate anger or tries to yell at you, ditch it and go talk to a counselor. Ultimately, you need to watch out for yourself, even if you might hurt someone’s feelings.
  
  Ask him if he likes you, explain that you hadn’t understood before and only view him as a friend, ask him not to make inappropriate comments, tell him you’d appreciate being able to talk to him AND your other friends. He may just be shy and awkward, using in-jokes as a ‘hook’ because he isn’t sure what to say otherwise… or he could be trying to isolate you for himself.
  
  The best thing to do is be frank and open… but safe. Never have a possibly incendiary conversation behind closed doors unless you’re 100 percent sure about how someone will react.

  I’ll talk to him about it. I know that his system can be particularly confusing at times… Do you think a basic setup in first-time sites and a few tutorials might help? Advertising is our big problem. He didn’t advertise for years and now it’s biting us in the butt, and I don’t know much about trying to advertise. :/
  
  I appreciate all your comments and suggestions. XD I’m not very good at most of this and I don’t have that much experience with it, so a lot of the time, I feel kind of useless.

  I would try to get into a GED program. I hated high school, too, because it was so incredibly tedious, but GED teachers are a lot different, and you only learn what you need to - they literally give you a test to decide what you do or do not know.
  
  It’s hard enough to find a good job without a college degree, it’ll be even harder to find one without a high school diploma.
  
  I would try to contact your friend to find out what happened, but ultimately, friends can draw apart as lives change… like Sarje said, though, the best way to make friends is to get involved in something. It’ll give you something to do at the same time, too.

  …I owe my dad a lot. It’s been me and him since I was born, almost, since my mom’s such a flake.
  
  And he can’t retire. He’s been running this business for the past ten years. It’s a really good company, but he has never done advertising for it before, and it’s only gone bad in the past year or so.
  
  He’s tried to collect SSI and stuff, but they said he didn’t qualify because he had 2000 dollars in the bank… then had to pay the mortgage…
  
  My brother lives nearby, but he has his own problems and, well, he kind of abandoned us. The only other person is my grandma. She lives a couple days away and she’s 80, so…
  
  I’ve been trying to update dad’s graphics on the site, but I only have a rudimentary understanding of how the code on his site works and to use photos of people from different sites, they want, like, $50 and up for anything decent.
  
  The only way we can even afford him going to the hospital for his regular appointments is because he goes to the Veteran’s Hospital…

  I’m 22. :p A little old to not be more grown up, probably, but there’s a long story behind that.
  
  It was a webhosting business… and I think I will post it up somewhere.
  
  …as far as housing prices, I believe they are. My dad says, with the fees for real estate agents and things, we’d get maybe 20 thousand. /Maybe/. Which’ll be… pretty much all the money we’ll have.
