Yeah, I tend to just distract them, usually with playing outside. I really like the money I get from babysitting, too, and since I’m not old enough for an actual job (I will be at some places this summer, though), it’s damn good to have this. It also gives me some very good experience on how to deal with little kids, and responsibility lol. Again, the money is good too! hahaha
I really do love going over there to babysit, because I always end up having fun. I’m so glad I got easy and fun kids to watch! hehe
Shouted yourself :P S’okay, I figured it out hehe!
Yeah, I’m not so strict. I find the parents of the girls really don’t care when they’re in bed, as long as it’s before midnight or so (no problems with that, they crash on me around eleven, usually in my arms or in their parents bed). They never really want to call, they prefer to play with my cell phone instead haha! They’re used to babysitters, so it’s easier. The younger one has started crying every time her mom leaves, though, she never did that before so I’m not sure why she does it now. I was exactly like her as a four year old, though, so I really shouldn’t complain :P
o gosh, that sucks. ya i am a very strict baby sitter when it comes to bed times. thats “me” time. haha i need my rest, too! kids are always in bed by no later than 10:00 if i have my say. and i hate when they ask to call, cas i want to let them of coarse, but at the same time idk if the parents are in a movie or something i dont want to disturb them
wow, yeah. Compared to that, the kids are pretty angelic. I actually used to babysit a six year old boy and an eight year old girl, my sister usually watched them, but I did when she was busy every once in a while. The girl is great, she’s almost ten now, and the boy was great in the day but at night he’d cry bloody murder and whimper for his mummy and I’d have to stay up with him and let him call and talk to her. That was a lot harder, because I had to stay out until one or two am and he wouldn’t sleep.
yeah, everyone who says babysitting isn’t a real job clearly has never babysat, or was a crappy babysitter. Working with kids does take skill/show skill. They’re definitely a handful too, I’ve been babysitting them since they were two and four and they’ve only gotten more active. Trust me, trying to calm a sobbing four year old while trying to listen to a six year old tell stories and play “tag you’re it” is SO not easy. Totally worth it, though, especially when I’m leaving and they give me hugs. :)
I have a steady babysitting job, so I guess I could say I work there. It’s a pretty awesome job lol, I get to play with two little girls, they’re six and four.
