  Yeah, it’s true, with therapists, you’ve got to look for the right one. Some of them just don’t geddit.
  Hey, you’re only 15…. take it easy ok? You’ve got many many more years ahead of you… maybe initially it might hurt more to break up with your boyfriend, but if you feel that his distance apart from you makes you even more emotionally unstable, perhaps it’s best for you to part with him and devote your energies to something new and which will give you pleasure and a greater sense of self-worth. Have you ever considered exploring other things like music or sports or languages?
  
  I personally find these interest very satisfying…other than that, when you’re going thru’ really tough times, it definitely helps to talk to some people… although sometimes, nobody quite understands exactly how you may feel… and at these times, I think it’s best to embrace the emptiness. All of us have an emptiness inside of us, the sooner we realize it and accept it, the better. Praying and meditation helps me too.

• How do you learn emotional intelligence.
  

  Reading ‘Emotional Intelligence’ by Daniel Goleman would help give abit more insight into what emotional intelligence is really about and why it is so necessary in our lives.
  
  However, i do believe that becoming emotionally intelligent is a process… through interacting with other people, reflecting and changing our attitudes and approaches to life we learn and grow and in the process, become more emotionally intelligent.

  yeah, i’m singaporean, …. sometimes I think i would be much happier living in Vancouver where my mom’s side of the family is… but i think i’m starting to understand what it means to belong slowly. I live with my mom and sister.. and sometimes, they really drive me up the wall… sometimes i feel like i’m in a madhouse… all these thoughts… but sometimes, life just seems so beautiful and poetic.
  
  I think i might stay put here for a couple of years.. work on my languages.. like Thai and Chinese and maybe Malay.. and also music… and pursue a masters degree here… but sometimes I’m so scared about not belonging and feeling like a stranger in my own country.

  I know how you feel… don’t hate yourself… i know it’s easier said than done… in the bible it says, you are fearfully and wonderfully made. Read Psalms 139.
  
  It takes courage to face up to your fears and why you really hate yourself, it’s a struggle, but you know, there are people out there struggling with you and praying for you. I’ve been there. I hated myself too, and tried taking my life many times, but i learnt to live, and i excercised, (took part in a triathlon and a couple more after…)
  
  I’m still learning now and struggling with my identity and feelings of isolation, but i’ve come a really long way since then, but life is beautiful and you’re beautiful, whether you know it or not.

• Does anyone have any good stories to share about creative or romantic ways people have approached the problem of asking out somebody they liked?
  

  Ask her if she would like to check out the music store down the street with you.
  Ask her if she would like to start a club, called ‘me and you and nobody else’
  Ask her if she would like to go to the park and find a dog to walk there.
  Ask her if she’d help you to put make up on for this gig that you’re doing next week
  Ask her if she likes the ‘Sound of Music’ and then take her to a Mogwai concert
  Take pictures of food and ask him if he has the time to appreciate them with you.
  Have a paper aeroplane making party and invite only him over.
  Ask him if he would help you to film a movie you have in mind called ‘in motion’ and get him to sit with you on any bus and keep the camera running for the entire journey on the bus.
  Ask her if she’d like to go four leaf clover hunting with you.
  Ask her out for a movie marathon - jog from one theatre to the other.
  Ask her if she likes puppies and take her to the local pet store to gawk at ‘em
  Tell her that you’re not running a huge tab at the bar as you usually do and that you’re worried and that you’ve got to do something about it, will she help run up your tab at the local bar?
