dba703, “Do you know what a PLETHORA is?”
I love that movie.
Araz, I commend you that you have such a high standard for yourself.
That is the earmark of a perfectionist.
What you need to balance it with is contentment.
Godliness with contentment is great gain.
Thank you! I like that quote-”Godliness with contentment is great gain.”
We learn from our mistakes. When you screw up its kind of sad.. but at least you learned a life lesson.
You are who you are. I can never understand how people can get so upset over this. You are unique. A one of a kind person with her own personality. If there is some sort of moral shortcoming you feel you have then work to be a better person.
Just do what you love. Enjoy life, I’m pretty sure you only get one. I may seem like a hypocrite, but I fully believe that life is worth living if you care to do so. No reason to stress out so much. Love yourself, love the person you are and things you do. Be happy.
You’re a much happier person than most, Savanna, if you can be comfortable with yourself. You’re right-I stress out entirely too much! I will try to love myself and just be happy more.
The problems and setbacks are there, now you have to look ways to overcome them.
It’s like in the movie “The Three Amigos.” They were dealing with the villain, El Guapo, and the whole town didn’t give up. Instead, they asked “what can we do to defeat El Guapo?” And they got to it.
My friend did this for me today. :) I told her all of my problems, and she gave me several suggestions to help tackle them. I feel so much better already!
Some people do have better traits than others. You can learn to accept it or you can work on your own traits. I would think the latter option would make you happier, but not necessarily because you succeed at attaining positive traits, but simply because you’re working towards a goal that will help you grow.
If you enjoy cooking, try a new recipe and cook for other people. People talk about there being good cooks and bad cooks, but if you think about it, you don’t need to be a master chef to follow most recipes. The difference between a good cook and a bad cook is that good cooks love cooking. Stop beating yourself up about your abilities or traits and instead admire yourself for the things that you’re passionate about.
Don’t let other people stop you from doing what you enjoy.
And even then, you don’t have to be the best at something to enjoy it. The forest would be very quiet if the only birds that sang were the ones that sang best.
You’re right-I have to stop being as much of a perfectionist. I am going to keep striving to be my best, but I really need to stop comparing myself to everyone else. Thank you for the advice! It really helped. :)
Let me set the record straight! You are pretty. I’m not some random bloke blowing smoke up your ar**. I have seen your pics, but more then that.. I have had conversations with you. You are great!!! You should put this crap from your mind and get cooking.. I mean that both figuratively and literally. The back of your mind should hold nothing less!
Aww, thanks Eddie! You’re right, I really need to start doing things I enjoy more. :) You’re such a good guy!
My point is simply this… when all seems to go wrong, take a step back and be you. Do the things you love. It does not matter what that is. Could be as simple as making chicken n’ rice. But, by the end of it, you will feel better. . .and empowered.
How was your trip to the city?
That is good advice! It was a blast-I saw Jon Stewart live, which was amazing.
I think it’s just something in the back of my mind. Like, a little voice constantly berating every decision I make. I feel depressed moreso when I’m with my friends and I can’t help but think they all seem to have better traits than me. Which is silly, but it won’t seem to go away. :(
Some guy on this website said I was ugly and normally, I would brush that off SO FAST. But when it bothered me… that’s when I knew how low my self esteem has gotten.
I do enjoy cooking. Maybe that would help get my mind off things?
This reply may seem very unrelated, but trust me, it is not. . .
Did you ever make that NY chicken dish you love?
Lol, I did not. :( Maybe all of my problems are tied to procrastination?
I did, however, eat some a few days ago when I was in NYC.
2012-09-22 12:42:45 on Is it better to be Optimistic or Pessimistic?
Neither. I choose to be a realist.
2012-09-22 12:16:16 on I nid to higher my education in college and i dont have money..how can u help me?
I can’t personally help you as I can barely afford my own tuition, but if you’re in the US, apply for FAFSA. They gave me a decent sized loan and some grants.
First of all come to me when you have guts to talk with your real name.
Second i didn’t even read all that after the first line.
Third I KNOW WHO are you :)
Four I would love to discuss anything if someone want to discuss not just want to hurt everyone or argue but i will not argue with a fool because if i do it means there are two !
Five God Bless You. :)
Lol, in a way, aren’t we all technically “anonymous” here?
Plus, anon was hardcore defending you so I just find this to be hilarious.
You are half as old as me! Only time it will ever happen…. we should start doing shots together online. Do you have a bottle of Jack Daniels nearby?
I swear, you do not look your age! I don’t happen to have a bottle of jack nearby, but I will very soon. Hopefully by Friday, my bday dinner if not next saturday, my hotel party. (I may be turning 26, but I try my best to celebrate like a 21 year old EVERY year! ;D)

Thank you!!! :)
Happy birthday to you too Araz! How old are you? Another child I know…
Thank you! :). I’m 26. It doesn’t feel any different from 25, to be honest!
It is going great, I couldn’t have asked for a better day.
It’s my birthday too! Happy birthday to us :)
2012-09-17 11:44:44 on My time to shine…
Congratulations!!! There’s no way that I can come (I live near DC, so you can imagine how hard it would be for me to go see it) but I did join the group just to show some support.
Good luck in everything! :)
2012-09-17 11:20:15 on how do you break up with someone you still care about?
One of my best friends is in this situation right now too. Be prepared to lose him/her as a friend. If you don’t have feelings for that person, don’t prolong the inevitable. You’re doing the right thing by breaking up.
2012-09-17 02:18:11 on I guess I am never going to get my original Dr.
Of course, I added you!
Now I have two “Doctor Ralphs” on my friends list :)
Good luck in getting access to your old account again!
