2006-11-02 18:47:05 on how to install mac os X10.4 on a windows xp pc
Yeah, this is the site http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/ind… I used to get OS X running on a Dell Latitude laptop. It was a really old version of OS X (leaked on the Internet after Apple announced it was going to switch to Intel processors) and was super slow, and there wasn’t a lot of applications built for x86 yet, but it worked.
2006-11-02 18:42:28 on After Installing My Display Driver for my X1950 Crossfire Edition Card and rebooting my system.
Yeah, I agree with neku. Trying booting into the safe mode menu screen (tap (or hold) the F8 key while it’s booting up) and then try “Last Known Good Configuration” first. If that doesn’t work, select “Safe Mode with Networking” and then it should work (if the problem is with the video card drivers). If that works, since your network connection should be enabled try going back to your video card vendor’s site and try a different driver.
2006-10-19 21:33:30 on I am in desperate need of a loan for 24K to pay off medical bills and credit card debts in collection.
This is just a suggestion, and I personally wouldn’t do this unless the circumstances were dire, but you might want to look into bankruptcy (chapter 7 or 13). Under most conditions you’ll still be able to keep your car (so you can work) and most other possessions. A close family member of mine filed chapter 13 several years ago and it was difficult…but 15 years later she now owns two homes and has *very* good credit.
2006-10-19 21:25:58 on How do I send ringtones from my computer to my raz
If your computer has bluetooth, you might be able to send mp3’s to your razr and use it as a ringtone. On my phone (not a razr but has bluetooth) it works. I can also try sending an MMS message and attach the mp3 file to it.
2006-10-19 21:21:06 on Holloween is coming up: so what’s your favorite costume idea?
If anyone dresses up as a Teletubby you’ll probably make this guy’s day.
2006-10-19 21:13:21 on hey I have a great invention idea but i dont want anyone else to create my idea first.
I’m not a lawyer, but when I need cheap (free) legal advice I always consult Nolo.com. Check this out: http://nolo.com/article.cfm/catId/00E…
Common sense would tell me that before you actually meet this company you should have them sign a non-disclosure agreement. If you’ve never seen one that you can copy from, I’d recommend shelling out the $30 to download this e-book http://www.nolo.com/product.cfm/Objec…
Once you’re a millionaire give me a call. ;-)
2006-10-19 21:03:15 on my pc doesn’t connect to google anymore.
Also try Spybot Search & Destroy: http://www.safer-networking.org/ which is a malware scanner. Maybe also install Firefox http://www.mozilla.com/ and see if it’s only happening in IE (I’m assuming you are using Internet Explorer…sorry if that’s a bad assumption). Good luck.
2006-10-19 20:59:00 on how do i repair internet explorer in windows 98 without
You could just upgrade to IE 7. http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/i…
Or better yet…try Firefox! http://www.mozilla.com/ =)
2006-10-19 18:26:25 on My Computer is restarting i have check all my devices
Sometimes when an anti-virus software can’t catch something (because none of them are 100% effective) you might have something running in memory that causes a problem. Sometimes when I’m fixing a computer that I suspect could be infected, I’ll go to http://housecall.trendmicro.com/ and use their online scanner.
By the way, when it restarts does it blue screen and flash anything at the top before restarting, or does the screen just totally go dark and then reboot. Do you have to reboot it manually or does it reboot by itself?

2006-10-17 18:16:23 on Zone Alarm vs.
Anything but McAfee. Seriously, that software is impossible to disable when you decide that you don’t want it. I’ve used Zone Alarm a long time ago and was fairly pleased. If you have Windows XP it comes with a decent packet filter firewall that should be just as good as any other.
2006-10-17 18:14:58 on How do I view SSL encrypted websites?
What operating system and browser are you using. Any error messages come up when you visit the site, or just a default “page cannot be displayed” type error?
2006-10-17 18:03:28 on I am using nero 6 ultra edition 6.6.0.5.
Yeah, check to make sure it’s using your CD or DVD device, or if it’s setup to the virtual device which would just create an ISO file.
2006-10-17 17:48:12 on Hi my name is Anthony, I’m a senior.I have been
Just a random thought…I’ve had my eye on Lego’s latest Mindstorm product (NXT) http://mindstorms.lego.com/ and since that requires some programming (albeit Mindstorm-specific) that might be something worth checking out. I was going to build a robot to handle the automation of replacing DVD’s on our backup server. The Mindstorm set includes sensors for audio, depth of vision, touch, and light /color differences so all sorts of cool things could be built.
Of course, you have the buy the thing first. Thankfully Christmas is just around the corner. ;-) Good luck.
2006-10-08 13:01:08 on My Mac keeps dropping its wireless connection
One other thought (although it’s probably not the case) is that someone within wireless range is running an attack (dissociation attack) that causes your Mac to drop its connection to the access point. This Denial of Service (DOS) attack is usually done for “fun” by inconsiderate individuals who enjoy that type of stuff. Chuy’s suggestion of upgrading the firmware on the router is a good one…sometimes that will patch any security holes or bugs in the router’s software and prevent such attacks.
BTW, if you were really curious you could fire up a wireless packet sniffer on the Mac (I use KisMac on my PowerBook) and try to analyze devices on your wireless LAN that shouldn’t belong there. But it does require some knowledge of networking (and more specifically, the wireless media). If that isn’t your cup of tea, there are some GUI tools out there that could help. One for Windows is called ManageEngine (http://manageengine.adventnet.com/products/wifi-manager/wireless-lan-attacks.html) and it might be able to help rule out the possibility of foul play. Good luck!
