  There is ‘being in love’ and ‘love’ as two different concepts. You may fall in love with a lot of different people before you meet the love of your life.
  
  Fourteen years ago I called off a wedding to someone I was in love with once. Told myself I was through with the whole business of dating, etc. Few weeks later met my now husband, BANG, suddenly knew what love was. Still with him after fourteen years. Love keeps getting stronger.
  
  You will meet someone, but kiss a few frogs before finding your prince, better get some practice in.

  I think you have to speak to your doctor and ask to be referred to speak to someone professional about this. Well intentioned people, just like me, can only help so far.
  
  I have recently come out the other end of what you are describing, and I know it is a living hell. The fact that you know your thoughts are irrational and that you are blowing things out of proportion means you are not too far gone.
  
  This takes a lot of practice, but when you have an irrational or panicy thought try to do something else. Think ‘I will deal with this when I have calmed down and able to deal with it’. Do things that will take a level of concentration or relaxation (learning to meditate is great!). Then when you think about your problem later consider if it is real or imaginary - what is realisticlly the worst outcome that could happen - how would someone you see as coping with life deal with it. Think about it, but not from the scared place inside of you but the real you who will get well again. I know it is a difficult technique and that is why you need real help in learning this. I got it from my local hospital and think it has saved my life.
  
  A lot of people in the world don’t understand depression and anxiety or have preconceived ideas based on when they were unhappy. This can have an alienating effect, making you feel out of sorts with everyone else. Forget them, this is a time in your life to put you at the top of your list of priorities. Get your head sorted out then get back in there. Group therapy is good for this, meeting people who have the same daft thoughts as yourself, you can start to feel ‘normal’ with them, which is a starting point for when you are ready to get back out there feeling ‘normal’ again.

  It is not food any more! Seriously, once you get into that mindset then it should work. How you view food has to change, it is now something to fuel your body rather than something to give satisfaction for the most part.

  Don’t take it personally till you know what happened. Try to get him going again and see if it hapens next time. I am sure that if he found you unattractive he would not be trying to get it on with you in the first place.

  I agree with you. I don’t like it when I ask for help and the God Squad are down my throat. There was one occasion when one of them really upset me, I had to take the day off work and could not stop crying.
  
  Why can’t questions be answered without their individual religoius beliefs be pressed on others. Maybe they should have a site of their own.
