Mini-Profile
Hello–My name is Louise, and I live in the southeastern USA. Although I am a clinical social worker by profession, I am no longer in practice. Several years ago I was diagnosed with an extremely rare form of bone cancer, which had appeared in an even rarer location (my lower spine). After undergoing nearly a year of grueling, physically and mentally taxing treatment, my disease went into remission. All was relatively well for the next seven years, until I began experiencing complications related to these treatments. Following numerous surgeries and months of hospitalization, I am now physically disabled and experience chronic pain. Despite no longer being able to work, I am trying to be as productive and “useful” as possible. My absolute favorite hobby of all-time is reading; I have very eclectic tastes in reading material and finish at least one book each week. I also love to do art projects–drawing, painting, designing/making jewelry, decorating my home, etc. I love to shop at thrift- and vintage stores. I really love cats–I currently have two–and have been reading/studying about them since childhood. I look forward to meeting new friends through this site!
