Hi there - Thanks for reading my profile! At 42, I’ve experienced alot of extreme things in my life.
I was initially married at 21, and ended up getting a divorce a few years later basically because of peer pressure. You see, my husband took a plea bargain for child sexual assault and ended up serving 20 months in prison for it. The evidence was shakey, but I couldn’t take the ostracism I was receiving from my co-workers and didn’t have any friends at the time. So I got a divorce and spent some time with relatives in the rainbow state.
After 6 months, I felt I had made a mistake and went back to the mainland (Illinois). After he got out, I lived on my own for a year, then lived with him for a year, then remarried him. We have been married for almost 16 years this time.
Well as fate would have it, he struck again. He was arrested for child sexual abuse. This time I do feel like he did it. I’ve been going through alot of mental anguish, but at least this time I have a great support group of doctors, psychiatrists, therapists, co-workers, friends, and help.com.
At the time of this profile, I’m waiting for the case to be resolved, and then I’m going to file for divorce (so I’m almost a single Mom).
I have a 10 year old son who is a special needs child (bipolar, high functioning autism spectrum, and ADHD).
In my past, I’ve gone through some abuse (physical, mental, emotional, and sexual), but somehow I try to find the good in people even to this day.
I do try to enjoy each day, but some days aren’t easy. I’ve been told by many people that I’m a very strong person. I guess since I can still get up in the morning, get my son off to school, and get myself off to work I must be doing something right.
I like to be involved in my son’s life through scouts, his school, sports, and any activity that he enjoys.
I’m still seeking a time in my life where I can be at peace, have someone in my life who respects and loves me (and that I can trust), and be truly happy without meds.
