The friend icon.. there is a little blue person beside each user’s name, at their profile or on every reply (not in the shout trail). Just click it. Also you can manage your friends list, and add people who have added you, by putting your cursor over the Account Admin link above, then selecting “friends”. If they haven’t added you yet, you will be a “fan’” of theirs and they will be a “favorite” of yours until you have both added each other. Then you are friends. You can invite friends to any post.
