I was running Windows XP, changed to another hard drive

oddly enough I was checking the memory sticks last night and when I started to feel on of them it burned my finger like H and part of it flew off. I replaced all of them and still nothing except that my floppy drive light came on. Without a monitor I can’t even tell if the BIOS is even activating at all. I wonder about that. Another reply said to boot into safe mode but how can I do that with no monitor showing? STRANGE Thanks for the chip info anyway.
