Thanks BECCA! What are you reading right now? I’m on Misery, by Stephen King. I think I’m the only person on the planet who still hasn’t seen the movie!
Rebecca,I have clearly been remiss. I just realized that for some reason I don’t have you on my friends list. Will rectify situation post-haste. P.S. Can I call you Becca?
You’re clearly so afraid of control that you’re afraid to control even your own life. That’s wrong on so many levels. What made you think that way?! Seriously. You have a deep-seated problem you need to deal with. I’m probably not the best person to talk to, but you need to talk to someone about that.
There’s nothing wrong with being in control of yourself. In fact, to surrender all control to someone else is just wrong. That just means you’re a slave, or worse.
You’re better than that! It doesn’t mean you have to stop caring about people, just start caring about yourself too.
That’s just my point, chicken (that’s a term of endearment btw, not an insult…). You don’t think anyone can change things, but you can. YOU can.
Things are never set in stone, there’s no such thing as fate. You don’t just have to sit back and accept what life deals you with a fake smile on your face.
If you never try to change anything, nothing will change. It’s in your hands. You have the ultimate say in what happens in your life, no one else.
If you think the opposite, it’s just because you give them the power. You let them control your life. But you can just as easily not let them and take control of what happens to you and be happy as anyone else.
That speaks volumes. There is nothing that you could have done in life that would mean you deserve to be treated with the full respect that any human being deserves. Nothing. Even murderers and paedophiles deserve to be treated as human beings, even if that’s all that connects them with the rest of us (otherwise we’re no better than them).
If you want to talk about personal things and don’t want them to be seen by other people, you can email me - (email removed)
Is that because she sensed a change in you? I hope so. Maybe your husband doing the washing up was a result of the same thing?
Maybe you’ve changed and not realised it? Or maybe they have (sometimes shouting does help!).
I hope you work on whatever has made the change and continue it (I hope it’s because of some assertiveness you’ve found).
I’m fine ta. Glad you’re making some small headway (mighty oaks grow from little acorns, and all that). Is that just what’s happened though, or as a result of something you’ve done? I worry that you’re a “Mrs. Mouse” and just accept what life throws your way.
It’s not my place to suggest you do anything that you’re not comfortable with, but it’s YOUR LIFE! You get one chance (as far as I know) and you deserve to enjoy it. If you enjoy looking after everyone else, then go ahead, but your question suggested otherwise.
You’re a beautiful human being who deserves to have a life like everyone else (probably more so). But one’s thing for sure - only you can make it happen.
How’s the situation with your mother-in-law?
Hey Becca. Sorry for the one month delay. I’ve been in hospital. I used to write too before I decided I sucked. I think that was the depression talking though. I’m giving it another try. Maybe we can trade poems?
Unfortunately I’m a disaster with pets, so we pretty much give each other a wide berth.
You’re so lucky you have snow. I’ve only experienced it once and it was amazing. I don’t often encounter fellow rain-lovers. That’s so cool. Storms tend to give me a cozy safe feeling, like there’s a lullaby-curtain between me and the rest of the world.
Anyhoo, I’ve babbled enough. Hope to chat to you soon. :)
Yeah, I’m still delivering the post. It’s been heavy this time of year, but I’m enjoying it.
I know its Christmas time already! I wish you a Merry Christmas and a good day when it comes.
I know your bathroom might be a bother at the moment, but you’re both putting great work into your bathroom and when it’s finished you’ll be happy with it and all your work will really have been paid off. Therefore, give me a smile!
I hope you get your sleep soon, as no sleep or not enough sleep is bad for you. Trust someone whose sleeping pattern hasn’t been right for over four years.
I look forward to hearing from you soon. Bye for now
xxx
Hi Rebecca. Thanks for your kind offer. And the compliment. Sometimes just knowing somebody’s willing to listen can make all the difference. The invitation’s mutual of course. Pretoria’s a city in South Africa. Where do you live?
Hey
I’ve missed talking to you and I’m always nipping on here to see if you’ve left me a comment.
You’re a lovely woman and always have something to say, which is something I like about you and I hope we talk agian soon.
I think the only time I can remember doingsomething like that was when I was trying to impress my boyfriend (now my hubby) and I bought one of those take away home things that comes like a take away but you cookit yourself, well I read the instructions half for microwave and half for oven so I managed to make a little fire in the oven by not taking th card lids off :S
I screamed fire and hubby thought I was jokeing, I had to stand there trying to convince him there was actually a fire lol
Wooo now that is eerie! Someone else just said I was wise too..
o_O lol
Not ever been on phones myself but I am quite good at deducting things with the added bonus of common sense I can imagine that is how it would be and I do not envy those times you have.
LoL no I think I would understand that too, being on the phone with someone who needs help with something that is as clear as day yet even when you tellthem how to do it or what the problem is they will still argue with you as though they know best..
Sounds like a plan, I will be interested in reading that :)
I don’t think I would last in a job like that for very long because if I had someone asking me a dumb question I would be constantly putting people on hld to wet myself laughing.
Oh yeah I love reading about things like that, I make lots of smile posts that are usually about dumb things people have said.
I think the last one or one before that had conversations between pilots and the control center, that was pretty funny.
You should keep a notepad next to you at work and jot down the really idiotic ones :P
Yeah doesn’t pay the best does it lol, good job for when your young and just want friends and nights out etc but when it comes to supporting yourself and others well money is not in it.
