If you’re interested in this topic from more than just an anecdotal perspective, there is a ton of research on it. You can learn about one aspect by searching for “Baumrind parenting styles.” There are years of research showing that there is an optimum level of “strictness”: if parents are too harsh and not loving enough (too focused on rules to let their kids know they love them) the kids get screwed up, too permissive and the kids get screwed up. As with everything else in life, there must be a balance. Kids need both rules AND independence to grow up as healthy individuals.

I’m creeped out for you. This guy sounds majorly creepy. Can you just avoid being alone with him? Don’t hang around church by yourself… show up late, leave as soon as other people start leaving, stay around friends. Go home for your alone time, don’t do it around the church where he can come find you. If he starts acting weird, just remove yourself from the situation. If you find yourself in a jam, make something up… like, “I have to go, I’m meeting someone in 10 minutes at the library” or whatever.

What’s most debatable about trying to save babies born under 22 weeks is the quality of life they will have. If they do survive, they are likely to have very serious health problems for their entire life, some are even blind and deaf, will always suffer from poor respiratory functioning, poor cognitive functioning, and probably countless other issues. The question is, is it fair to try to save a child that will be condemned to a lifetime of suffering?

It is possible, but very unlikely. Its more likely that you’ll get pregnant from those times that you try to put it in. If it goes in enough to hurt you, its in enough to get you pregnant. Use condoms.

Do some physical activity everyday, drink lots of water and eat lots of fruits and veggies. A healthy diet and physical activity will help you maintain a healthy body weight much more effectively than throwing up what you eat, and without all the nasty side effects, like dying.
Becoming bulimic is definitely not the only way and definitely not the best way or the fastest way to have the body that you want.
Being active everyday and eating healthy will not only make your body look better, but it will make you feel better, have more confidence, and generally be happier. Physical activity is nature’s antidepressant!
I also recommend that you stop looking at magazines - those pictures are airbrushed, real women don’t actually look like that.

maybe, but it can’t hurt to hear it, and the real truth is there is no better advice. addiction requires treatment, that simple. other problems tend to resolve themselves through the process of recovery.

If you have a drug problem, that is the very first thing you need to deal with. I urge you to get yourself into treatment. Either an inpatient residential program, or going to AA or NA meetings. Whichever you choose, do it now. No reason to wait. Get on the phone in the morning and get this problem treated. Addiction is a very serious, progressive illness. It only gets worse without treatment, but recovery is possible with the appropriate resources. Good Luck.

Its hard to know what she’s thinking, there are a lot of possibilities. My guess is that she is not interested in you, but somehow after the last interaction at the gym she got uncomfortable, probably because she thinks you’re interested in her, and she doesn’t want to have to deal with how awkward things would be if you tried to act on it and she was forced to overtly tell you she wasn’t interested. But there could be a number of other reasons for her behavior.

most people say that the only way to get over someone is to go No Contact for a certain period of time (2 months or something like that) after the breakup. There are entire websites devoted to No Contact.

I’ve done the Master Cleanse (lemonade diet). It is not recommended to do it JUST for weight loss, because it is difficult and requires strong dedication. You cannot substitute the maple syrup, if you cannot find Grade B in your local health food store, then you can order it online. When doing the cleanse, it is VERY important that you follow the instructions to the LETTER, if you want to experience all of the benefits.
Everyone’s Master Cleanse experience is different. You could lose 5 lbs in 10 days or 30.
You should be well-informed before beginning. I recommend reading through this website www.therawfoodsite.com for instructions and others’ questions and experiences.
