  It seems to me that you are struggling with making a decision between protecting your feelings and being honest with the people you care about. I honestly do not think that anyone will hold it against you for being yourself, except you need to try your best to be honest. People could be more understanding than you could think because at times, they find themselves dealing with even much bigger issues than you are facing. All you need to do is to be genuine in your outreach - just like your help request sounded to me - and everyone will sense it.

  All that I’m saying is that you must make the world aware that you are there and you exist, and they better notice. Don’t compromise. Be unforgiving when it comes to pursuing a better life.
  
  I kinda know how you are feeling becuase I’m also in the same position and I’m doing music (although still an amateur). I told myself that I gonna fight to the bitter end. I don’t know how, but maybe responding to you right now is part of the fight!!!

  Create value in who you are and what you do, then people will begin to notice and get attracted to you. Start developing and expanding your passion in everything you are doing. Learn more about the trade (eg. music), join interest clubs, blog about it. Once you start to realise the value within, success will follow. but it is definitely not going to be overnight.
