  That depends on a number of factors, like if she actually is going to keep the child, and whether or not she actually wants him around to take care of her. I’ve met women who said they would prefer a monthly check rather than a guy getting in their way. Therefore she already has been given the bulk of that responsibility. Whether or not she chooses to share it more evenly is up to her.

  Not at all. I use the word lifeform because I choose not to classify it as human or not human. Instead I go with what’s already scientifically established. We know it’s a lifeform. Whether it’s a life or not, I leave to you to decide for yourself. For me it greatly depends on the stage of the pregnancy, and even then I really don’t know.

  That’s exactly what I believe. It IS a burden, no matter if you see it as a blessing or a curse. Hard times lies a head either way. When it is still a fetus that can be aborted within the laws of society, the mother has that legal right. If you talk about moral rights, well thats a whole different debate.

  First of all, if you read my reply it challenges the argument of a male being equally affected by a pregnancy as a girl. It is not an argument for or against responsibility.
  
  Anyway, it’s not the pain that is the question, but where the word bears the most weight. While it doesn’t necessarily free the male from responsibility, the burden apposed by mother nature cannot be ignored. He can walk away, she cannot. She will bear the pain, he can do nothing but watch.
  
  Like I said, he should take his share of the responsibility and do what he can to make things easier for her, but in the end it is her body. She has the final word and that word decides life or death for a lifeform. Whether she wants to or not, she bears the heaviest responsibility by far. So is it really unreasonable to say that she should have thought things through a few more times than he?

  Erm.. Are you aware of what happens to a womans body during pregnancy? There is no way in hell a guy can be equally affected by all the physical and psychological strains a woman goes through. I know I’m starting to sound like a feminist here, but seriously… It should be pretty obvious.

  No. The consequences will always be of greater significance to the girl, no matter how much money or support the boy is willing to offer. He has a responsibility to offer all he is capable of, for sure, but in the end it is her decision and hers alone that settles the matter.
