• (2 votes) What has been the biggest problem that you have overcome?
  

  I accidentially burnt down the church building that my father pastored. Our church’s first real church building after 15 years of meeting in a store front. Thats when my dad lost his faith and today, because of it, my parents are separated (and getting a divorce), my dad no longer preaches because he was fired after apparently “attempting suicide” and my mom leaving him. Its taken me a long time to get over the guilt for all of this being my fault but today i think i might be half way there… sometimes i wish i hadnt flipped that switch that started the electrical fire but looking back i think… Hey, thats life. You flip the wrong switch and everything you hold dear gets taken away… but its not my fault.. I was just in the wrong place at the wrong time.. or perhaps the right place at the right time… I wouldnt be the person I am today if it hadn’t been for that terrible night. (The teens were having a lock-in at the church and i woke up to one of the younger kids screaming the church is on fire I came out and saw flames at the back of the sanctuary.) But I like who I am today, I just have to learn to overcome the feeling of guilt for being a tool of the universe in a very unfortunate situation… I cant change it and it was perhaps just fate that someone left me alone in the kitchen to turn on the light. I couldnt find the switch and one didnt work so i assumed the breaker blew… I went to the breaker and tried to flip a switch that i thought might work and it sparked.. 2 hours later the place was in flames. I’m such a ditz. But HEY! It was an old building and they told me that that would have happened sooner or later because of faulty and out of date electrical wiring or something….

  we’re not alone.. but people shut themselves off from others for protection… humans are capable of unlimitless compassion and unfathomable cruelty… you just have to learn to love yourself… and know that you are your own best friend.. when people see that you are a secure and happy person they will feel more comfortable being around you feel safer being close to you and open up more.. try to teach other people to be happy, love themselves… and spread the love.. then more people wont have to be alone…
  
  people are strange. lol we need to completely overhaul the worlds way of thinking.. its just too sad. and life is too short to spend it alienating yourself and filled with sadness… i never feel alone anymore because when i am sad… i know that someone in the world is crying with me.. when im happy, someone is laughing with me.. and in the end.. i always know that i will be there for myself.. to pick myself up… and people can see that in someone… people know if someone is happy, safe and secure.. and are drawn to that.
  
  ever noticed that when someone is upset people usually run away? lol ( its sad but true) people are afraid of being sucked into a negative situation…. rid yourself of negativity and you will be opened up to a whole new world…
  
  and yes, it sucks that people dont help others in need… they should! but individuals are not strong enough to help others until they are able to help themselves.

  I dont eat alot either but Look, don’t starve yourself for attention. Learn to love yourself and you’ll find that you can get all the attention you need when you are happy and let people in. People are afraid of people who are hurting because they are afraid they dont know how to deal with it properly… you have to let them know its ok to help.
