Hi there. As far as my wholesaler goes I used to own a childrens boutique and have the same tax id # and store name. I went thru my same contacts because my credit was already established with them even after so many years. They think I physically still own the store but dont. the supplies come right to my home. As far as anyone else on ebay i dont know how they go about it. my daughters friend was an attorney and quit his job because he now sells cell phone accesories on ebay; a powerseller also. I asked him how he did it along with other ebay contacts and they wont tell you anything because of competition! I do know you can find wholesalers and drop shippers on line and establish accounts with them. The problem there is that it costs a lot of money to buy in such quantities. I was lucky to have established credit previously with my suppliers otherwise i couldn’t have done this.I Did’nt have all kinds of money up front. You can also take free tutorials on ebay school. I didn’t but just learned thru trial and error. As far as my website goes maybe we can help eachother somehow. I started this design with yahoo “sitebuilders” only to find I couldn’t develop certain pages. They never told me i couln’t do this on my own and now i am being charged for fees with no web site. this site/business is going to run itself with little work but i cant finish it that why i contacted yahoo and that was there prices. I posted my help request on “elance.com” with students that can maybe finish my site thru yahoo and still waiting to here quotes and prices. feel free to contact me anytime thru (email removed) thanks

Hi jerseygirl. I’m the member who posted about an Ebay business. I have had a long career in TV and video production, which seems to have hit the doldrums. I went freelance a year ago, attempting to do videos for real estate, then of course real estate went bust.

I am not a web designer. But i did design and build my own site. I’m very good with Photoshop and many other programs, but am pretty new at web design. $3000 just for a home page sounds steep to me. There are so many people who design sites, you should be able to find a design student or even a pro at a better price.

I’ve been on Ebay a long time, but have rarely bought anything and never sold anything there.

I recently bought an auctionsforincome.com training package to jumpstart my Ebay ambitions. I’m very interested in selling computers, consumer electronics and schoolbooks to start with. I appreciate the advice to find a wholesaler. I have heard that wholesalers and drop-shippers (and to a lesser extent storage unit auctions) are key to doing this right. Getting inventory at a wholesale price is the challenge. How did you convince a wholesaler to sell to you?

Thanks so much for your advice.
