If anyone teaches false doctrines and does not agree to the sound instruction of our Lord Jesus Christ and to godly teaching, he is conceited and understands nothing. He has an unhealthy interest in controversies and quarrels about words that result in envy, strife, malicious talk, evil suspicions and constant friction between men of corrupt mind, who have been robbed of the truth and who think that godliness is a means to financial gain. But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that. People who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs. 1 Timothy 6:3-10
And Hinduism and Judaism were around 1500 years before Christianity. And saying that God is real because people predicted people would deny him is illogical. The fact is that belief or disbelief in existance does not prove or disprove that existance. I say again. Prove his existance.
As for things getting worse in the last days, anyone can predict a flood or a drought or a nuclear apocalypse. Give a specific date and time if you want someone to believe.
And how is attempting to prove the non-existance of something proving its existance?
As for the atheist’s riddle. (Post will be continued.)
uncledwayne, in fact, most Christians know next to nothing concerning Jewish history during the 1800 years following the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 AD. It was during that period, when the Jewish people returned again en masse to Babyloon, that the bulk of modern Jewish attitudes and literature emerged. Are you aware that Orthodox Jews revere the opinions of the Pharisees, as contained in the Talmud, much more than the law of Moses? Are you aware Judaism is comprised of several religions, Rabbinic Jadaism, Kabbalah, Talmudic Horoscope (Astrology),…and Hebrew religion? Are you aware who Abraham of the Bible is, the one I commented on earlier from facts of the Bible? To sum it up, we may confidently assert that while unblelieving Jews today do not constitute the “seed of Abraham” as do Jewish and Gentile Christians, nevertheless God has a very specific and wonderful destiny for a Jewish remnant which will one day be revealed. Although nearly two millennia of Rabbinic Jewry have died without indication that a remnant exists in Israel still the Scriptures everywhere assure us that this remnant will someday appear. Are you aware that the Torah is the entire body of Jewish teaching which includes the Old Testament (Bible), the Talmud, the Zohar, many rabinic treatises, as well as any contemporary activity which epitomizes the essence and aspirations of Judaism, therefore, Judaism’s different religions reinvent theirself at will. “Doublespeak” is not necessary ever with God, nor does the meaning of his words ever change, nor is there confusion:)

The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt5 are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good. Psalm 53:1
“Science is preparing a surprise for mankind. At least it will be a surprize for those who have doubts about the Bible and its God. It will also come as a surprise for those who are laboring under the misapprehension that science has undermined the Bible. In fact, it may even shock some scientists, who may be startled to find that their newly uncovered fact, or acepted theory, provides still another link in the chain of evidence that is showing that the facts of the universe support the Bibles statements-including creation” James Reid author God, the Atom, and the Universe
He further states that for years, as a man of science, he had endeavored under the old classic physics, the Newtonian physis, to discover support for these in the Bible:), but the new disciplines of quantum physics-quantum theory and quantum mechanics-have totally transformed the scientific world. True science supports the statements of the Scripture (Bible). “Keep studying Kos, you have a long way to go, things do not just happen they are caused” SoulRising:)
dear dav
the thing is, whatever you believe in, has been through the bible. have u ever questioned the bible?
i am a student of science. i have been taught to question EACH and EVERY thing around me.
I dont even take my physics teacher and the physics text book at face value.
Then why should you do the same with the bible?
Kos you are speaking “Doublespeak”(one minute you do not believe and the next you disregard the evidence). I’m not sure what your age or your education level but as a result of extensive excavations in 1890 in the dry sands of Egypt by Dr. Flinders Petrie and others, we now know who these four kings from the Persian Gulf were. Transliterating from the Semitic to the Babylonian, we discover that the king who is called Amraphel is none other thatn the very famous man whom we know in secular history as Hammurabi. The great Hammurabi, who gave us his code of laws, and three other kings descended upon and attacked these kings at the Dead Sea. All of this has now been demonstrated to be historical fact beyond question. Their names have been ascertained, as have the sites where they camped.
Is it possible that you do not want to have a conversation that you are not capable of keeping up with, or that maybe you just want to be right even if the evidence proves you otherwise?
I can attest to more than twenty-five thousand sites that have been discovered that pertain to the Bible:) No archaeological discovery has ever controverted a biblical reference:). That is amazing Kos.

i completely accept what u have mentioned in ur post.
but ur still not proving the bible, just the circumstances around which it is believed to have arisen.
the fundamental difference between u and me, at this point atleast that i can see, is that u started on the premise that there exists a god and built up on it, while i started with the premise there is no god.
with this il take leave for this topic. im simply too tired. will continue tomorrow.

If you truly believe that you have a scientific mind, do your research, none of mine is based on assumption. The distinguished German scholar and orientalist Julius Wellhausen had overwhelming academic credentials that caused people to listen to what he said. In 1889 he still subjected the fourteenth chapter of Genesis to critical attack. This chapter relates that four kings from Mesopotamia and Babylonia came over into Palestine and attacked a group of five kings around the Dead Sea, including the kings of Sodom and Gomorrah. They conquered these kings and carried off goods and many captives, among whom was a young man by the name of Lot, Abram’s nephew. On learning of this, Abram gathered his servants and took off in pursuit, overtaking the invaders near Damascus (quite a journey north) and engaging them in battle. having discomfited his enemy, Abram rescued Lot, his family, and all his goods.
The critics insisted, first of all, that there was no intercourse between Babylonia and Palestine. In those days, they said, travel of that sort was unheard of and could not possibly have happened. Wellhausen stated: “That four kings from the Persian Gulf should, ‘in the time of Abraham,’ have made an incursion into the Sinaitic peninsula, that they should on this occasion have attacked five kinglets on the Dead Sea Littoral and have carried them off prisoners, and finally that Abraham should have set out in pursuit of the retreating victors accompanied by 318 men servants, and have forced them to disgorge their prey-all these incidents are sheer impossibilities which gain nothing in credibility from the fact that they are placed in a world which had passed away.”
Now that world has come to light again. From its tombs and varied places, voices cry out from the dead, and that world of impossibility has changed considerably. Wellhausen was not the only one who had such an opinion. That great critic Theodor Noldeke said criticism had forever disproved the Bible’s claim to be historical. Yet that is exactly the claim of the fourteenth chapter of Genesis:).
How much research do you do with your scientific mind Kos:)? Science proves the Bible is a historical document of which none can compare. Goodnight Kos:)

In my country, the United States of America our founding forefathers realized there are few ways out of financial bondage. Bloodshed and war often result, realizing that a CREATOR is always above and greater than that which He creates, they established a three vote system by which an informed citizenry can control those acting in the name of government. To be a good master you must always remember the true “pecking order” molotok or chain of command in this nation:
1) GOD created man…
2) Man (that’s you molotok) created the Constitution…
3) Constitution created government…
4) Government created corporations…etc.
I must say that though i have not experienced christianity, i do have a religion of my own, hinduism, and believe it or not, i can safely say that, atleast in the broad sense, all religions say the same thing, be it christianity, islam or hinduism, though in different languages and methods.i only tried to explain the guilt part because you brought it up, it being an example on how everything can be brought down to physics (scientific) or moralistic and emotional logic.
Many people have despised the prophecies of God because they have never examined or proved them to determine if they are reliable and true. Perhaps this is because people suppose that prophecy is not real and genuine, or so commonplace that it can be easily explained. The biblical prophecies are quite specific, real, and genuine; they are unique because they do not exist anywhere else.
In all writings of Buddha, Confucius, and Lao-tse, you will not find a single example of predicted prohecy. In the Koran (the writings of Muhammad) there is one instance of a specific prophecy-a self -fulfilling prophecy-that he, Muhammad himself, would return to Mecca. Quite different from the prophecy of Jesus who said that he would return from the grave. One is easily fulfilled, and the other is impossible to any human being.
Archaeology, a science begun in the early nineteenth century has confirmed the historicity of the Bible. The scholar R. A. Torrey said that “the plethora of details were watermarks in paper, which bear indelible evidence of the time and plan of manufacture.” As a detective can ascertain from a watermark many things about the paper-its source, for instance-the science of archaeology has uncovered from these details a vast wealth of information about the Scripture.
In a courtroom, lawyers frequently ask witnesses many detailed questions that do not seem to bear directly on the issue at hand. They are attempting to establish in all sorts of corroborative ways whether the witness is telling the truth or is lying. According to one historian, it is impossible to establish a lie in the midst of a well-known history. As the details are brought out and confirmed or denied, so the truth of the story also is confirmed or denied. One scholar states: “To my mind, absolute truth and local details (a thing which cannot possibly be invented when it is spread over a history covering many centuries) give proof almost absolute as to the truth of the thing related. Such proof we have for EVERY part of the Bible.”
