  I know how you feel, I’ve been there. It does get better, over time, it really does. But I don’t think it’s good for you to be doing all this stuff for her, to be so close…That doesn’t help. I know though, that it is a crazy time, and you are missing the intimacy of the connection you had, it takes time to adjust to the changed relationship.
  You know, breaking up is a form of bereavement, It’s the death of your relationship and plans as they were. I found it hard to get over having them there too, to lean on, hold hands, hug, or even just talk to. that place in your life is now absent, it will fill up with new things over time - you’ll just look back one day and realise you haven’t felt so bad about it

  I understand how you are feeling, I’ve been there.
  I think it’s good advice for you to get out of home and live your own life, it will really help.
  new love will come to you, and the world will open up to you, Some counselling is a good idea too - I too come from a home where my parents yelled and fought all the time, but I didn’t do anything about it at the age of 18, and now, in my thirties, I’m paying the price, with kids of my own, a series of broken abusive relationships behind me.
  
  I can assure you though, that when the world opens up for you, that you will leave this behind you. I know you are worried for your Ex, that you care about her, but she has to walk her own path. You could write her a letter explaining what you are worried about, and how you are still there as a friend, but i think it would be good for you to distance yourself from her, and move on, put your energies into new things. I know this is hard at first, but a clean break is easier.
  there is so much out in the worlds, so may wonderful things, so many people etc.
  with broader horizons, It will all really come together for you.
  
  You have amazing resourcefulness, saving up and getting a car, paying for your own gas etc. At that age I wasn’t able to do that, I was such a baby. you are already able to live on your own ans support yourself, and you’d be able to have your mates over, all night, for days if you want. I remember doing that! It was great, having the friends I wanted hanging out in my place, painting the walls they way I wanted, etc. In fact I’m still doing that, just painted my bathroom purple, and the toilet too - purple can! (here in Ireland we call it a bog).
  
  yeah i got anger issues too. I’m learning a lot about expressing the emotions that lead to the anger, for the anger is a defense mechanism, an attempt to say no or push something away. It’s important to listen to your anger, to look within and see what’s feeding it. Like, you care about this girl, and you are frustrated and angry that you can’t protect her and keep her safe. maybe there are other people around you who also need this, and are more open to recieving these things from you? I mean that the fact that you are angry now shows that you are a loyal, passionate, deeply caring person who makes strong connections. you aren’t shallow. being jealous can be turned on it’s head to ‘protective’.
  I know from my own experiences in breakups, that a lot of the anger comes from a sense of abandonment too, and also that jealousy and anvy arise because we feel that we don’t have these things ourselves (but we actually do if we look within).
  
  That’s why it’s a good idea to get out in the world and find new things, to ‘make busy’ for a while, so you don’t have time to dwell or think about her. cos’ it’s your thoughts tha fuel the anger, and if you can put your energies into other things, it will improve. all that anger is passion, creativity, artistic expression and motivation. It’s fuel yuou can use to rocket up your life

• No Child Left Behind… Explain this to me.
  

  that’s disgraceful! so unfair to the poor kids, and the teachers and schools. What happens to schools in disadvantaged areas, where kids often can’t focus on school work, aren’t supported at home etc (parents working too hard to ‘put food on their families’)? surely the best thing to do is to give more funding and support to the schools that lagging behind?
  I live in Ireland, where education is much better - I currently have my kids in an ‘educate together’ school, which has a multi denominational ethos and a multicultural policy. it’s motto is about celebrating difference about ‘no child left behind’ - ie no child left behind due to social, relicious or cultural differences.
  
  I sincerely hope there is a huge re-think of this with the next US administration, so that kids are being taught more than just ‘literacy so they can pass a literacy test’ (full bush quote - we need to teach our kids literacy so they can pass a literacy test’)
