  I’m sorry you thought about it that way. The thing is, I really never get involved in this kind of thing, but when my friend is hysterically IM-ing me at 10 o’clock, I’ll just do whatever she asks.
  
  But now she’s just ignoring him… it’s ridiculous, at school she RUNS AWAY whenever she sees him and I always tell her to just talk to him face to face if she has something to say. She says she honestly doesn’t know whether she likes him or not, and she keeps on asking me, like I’m somehow going to know how she feels. And he’s being all insistent and weird, and telling me all these things, like IMing me about other guys liking me and saying that I can’t tell “Madeline” that he’s online, and other things like asking me why I hate him when I actually think he’s pretty cool except when he’s being rude to my best friend… I totally agree with you, from what I’ve said, i sound TERRIBLE but it’s just, you don’t know these people…
  
  And the only thing that made the situation better was what I did… I’m sorry, but it’s true. She was really confused that this guy was ignoring her and apparently it sounded like he was mad at her. I was the one who found out that there was a misunderstanding, and they actually got to talk after that, but now he’s back to how it was before. I don’t get it.
  
  But Amanda had some pretty good advice, to just make Madeline solve her own problems instead of involving me. I’ve already started… today she wanted me to ask him about her status on facebook? Just so he notices that she put up that she was “confused,” and to tell him to IM her if he wants to know why she’s confused. Like WTF??? So I just told her that I wasn’t going to be the go-between, and that if they are going to have a real relationship (whether romantic or not) they should start talking if they have something to talk about, and not do this avoiding and hinting and rumors and things. She said she understood, and she’s really nervous, but she’s going to try to deal with him on her own without involving me:) So I’m really happy because I hated dealing with this jerk>.

  You’re right… my friend asked me for help, and even though i thought the whole thing was ridiculous, i did whatever she asked me to do… I don’t know. There are a lot of people who are trying to get involved and offer advice, but she doesn’t really listen to them, i think it’s because they’re all sort of pushy and weird. I’m the only one she wants advice from, but I don’t know how to help her. I guess I just need to step back and make her deal with her own problems (or not deal with them). Thanks:)

  she tried emailing him to explain why, and he told me that he got the email. so i don’t understand, he knows how she feels, but he’s just ignoring that and no one can figure out why…

  well, it’s kind of different… they don’t speak in person, let’s just say that there social circles don’t really overlap. that’s why it’s so odd that he likes her. And she’s so afraid of speaking to him at school, so she tries to talk to him online so it won’t be so awkward with his friends there and it’ll be more private. and once she tried to get him to talk to her privately before he got mad at her, but he said, “my friends can be here for anything you have to say…” and that srot of thing.
