Men are fairly cut and dry with their answers where we women want to probe deeper; sometimes making a mountain out of a molehill. I do agree that the first response was a little rude, but if Anon really wanted help, she would at least read all the posts and help us more to understand why she is upset over “just talking”. I didnt get out of this post that he cheated before, and essence did. So unless she comes back and clarifies, then we did all we could :)

Trust is earned and when one lies, the trust is gone. Forgiving the liar isnt the problem, it is the fact that the liar now has to earn one’s trust again, which could take a very long time depending on the lie.

I think that where the word “again” is used in this post doesnt imply that he cheated before. This post really sounds like jealousy and possibly self esteem issues. If I’m wrong, then I want Anon to let me know. Men and women live in this world together, and talking to one another is inevitable. If Anon has trust issues with only talking, which is what she typed, then her marriage will be in trouble. Trust and communication are the key to success. With her probing him about just talking to another women, he put up his defenses because he is upset over the fact that she doesnt trust him. He told her nothing happened passed talking, but if she keeps harping on the issue, of course he is going to be upset.

I suppose if you caught him talking with her in an intimate way, that would be reason to be upset. If he was just talking, then you need to stop and think how you would feel if you were just talking to another man and your husband didnt believe you when you said nothing happened. You would be angry too for not being trusted by him.
