• I am at the point where I’m ready to upgrade.
  

  Hi, I currently do video editng and photography for a living and use both Mac and PC.
  As an end user, all you will really see is the software on screen, so you have to be able to use this and be happy with the feature set. Make a list of important features you realistically need. i.e. are you looking to edit HD movies or RAW pictures of 20megapixels plus, realistic working times for project renders etc. Some of these answers will already be governed by other hardware you are looking to interface to your computer.
  Check with software is suitable and get a time licensed demo from the manufacturer to make sure you are happy with the layout and the way it works. (If your current PC will run it) Then look at the specs that the software really need to get it up and running. This will determine whether you buy Mac or PC since some software is platform specific. Macs are no more money that the relevant same spec PC (more obvious now since the chips are the same)

  OK different explanation the guys overpaid for the room by £2.00
  It should have been £25 - they paid £27 the extra £2 was pocketed by the bellboy. You misdirected by added the £2.00 to get £29.00 rather than subtract it.

  Sending £5 will the bellboy and retaing £25.00 means at that stage each person had ttechnically paid £8.3333(recurring) + £1.00 returned to them means each paid
  
  9.33×3=£27.99 (rounded to 28.00) + £2.00 to the bellboy

  That should be in 6 years Rebecca is 18 - mum is 54 but anayway the original answer of 12 stands correct!
  
  Rebecca=x
  Mum =y
  Y=4x
  
  also Y+6=3(x+6)
  
  therfore 4x+6=3(x+6)
  
  (4x+6)/3 = X=6
  
  (4/3)x+2=x+6
  
  (4/3)x=x+4
  
  (1/3)x=4
  x=12
