2013-03-02 06:30:27 on Falling out of love with my Cat
Find a loving home for your cat. If you need assistance finding local rescue centres/groups then ask.
Don’t just give it to anyone. There are far too many folks in this world who take on pets at whim and don’t really understand that it is a lifelong commitment.
Work on finding the perfect solution for your cat. Not the perfect solution for you.
And no, don’t get any other pets.
Ever.

Stay positive. She may be 90, but you know if the docs think things will improve then help her to believe that too, no matter what.
Laughter is important so keep her spirits up with some fun if you can. Take her balloons and her favourite movie on dvd, that sort of thing.
Hope things are working out for your visits with your youngster.
2013-03-01 12:25:43 on What are the odds that I’m pregnant?
You know, the fact that it is driving you crazy could be why it’s not happening?
Believe it or not, stress and anxiety have been shown to delay periods!
You are right to do a test to be sure.. but try not to worry. I’d say that you did all the right things, so chances are you’re safe :o)

Hello dear.
Sorry to hear that you are going through so much. Unfortunately, nobody here is able to help you financially but we are pretty good at getting you practical help by putting you in touch with the right people and coming up with ideas to work on!
I notice that you’re struggling with rent payments. You need to contact these people as soon as possible. They will give you the best advice on your rent situation and may be able to prevent things from escalating. Give them a call as soon as you can and explain that you are in arrears and need help working out a way forward:
http://scotland.shelter.org.uk/get_ad…
Also, get in touch with these people. They will help you work through your entitlements and make sure you are getting what you should be getting:
http://www.citizensadvicedirect.org.uk/ They have a webchat facility now so that you don’t have to worry about telephone call costs.
It may help you to spend time looking at Martin Lewis’s site too. There’s a LOT of help there with getting the best deals on gas, electricity etc. and also help with debt issues. The forums are useful too and it’s a great site for picking up penny-saving tips.
I do not envy you and your situation. But stay strong. Your children can be supremely proud of you. Try not to worry too much.
One thing I do know is that it can be extremely hard to ask for help, particularly for those with invisible disabilities such as yours (trust me, I know). Do make sure that neighbours, friends and family understand that you may need REAL support sometimes. Perhaps a hand with shopping, cooking and cleaning or just someone to take the pressure off with the kids once in a while.
Call your rheumy clinic/doctor again. Get an appointment for another check up and ask to talk through what better pain control options there may be for you. What tests did they do to come to their conclusions? If you aren’t under the care of a consultant, insist on getting a referral. Also ask whether you could have underlying Rheumatoid Arthritis as what you describe suggest it’s a possibility - if they haven’t tested for that, then they should have. Bear in mind that with such conditions there is no “black and white”. Sometimes you can be one of the unlucky few who come up “sero-negative” (ie. don’t show up on tests) but can still have an RA condition? Worth enquiring about, though maybe you have already gone down this road.
I hope you will find some solutions.
Chin up :o)
2013-03-01 10:31:03 on YEAH WELL **** YOU ‘MERICKA (and all capitalist
Yep.
Work is a four letter word ending in K.
But.. when you think you have it tough and life’s unfair, take a moment or two to look a little further afield in the world. Where mothers and children scrape a living from tips, where children are forced into slave labour, where life hangs by a thread because of disease, famine and war.
Suddenly you start to see life in a whole new way and thank your lucky stars you get to enjoy the weekend.
Ranting is useful to let off steam. I hope you feel better for it.

Hello again :o)
It’s so good to hear that things are going well for you. Looks like you are doing your family and friends proud.
This post just goes to show that as the years go by, the troubles we thought we had when we were young seem so insignificant in the grand scheme of things. Life is full of tragedy, but also full of joy. And there is nothing more powerful in our lives than the love of our partners, our family and friends.
Good luck with the new little bundle of jfun in your life! Hope everything goes well with the birth.
Much love
Mums x

Tell me about it!
My Dad hid his inside the toilet cistern in case of burglaries! Only he forgot to tell anyone else and forgot where he put them.. cost us an arm and a leg for replacements to shift the car out of the garage. Then we discovered he’d locked a chicken in the boot of the car (weeks down the line, it was rather high!!) Supermarket chicken thankfully. Not a live one.
Have to laugh in the end really.
