  AKS, I like you a lot. I enjoy interacting with you and reading your replies, and I consider you my friend. I don’t want to lose that.
  
  That being said, now let me say this: This is a terrible idea. I almost thought you were being tongue-in-cheek as I was reading it. Are you honestly suggesting that we empower agents of the state to police peoples thoughts, deny them college entry, force them into “treatment”, and lable them for life based on somebody else’s idea of instability? This is how fascism starts.
  
  A deranged act like this is something unpredictable. There is no formula for preventing them. They happen only once in a blue moon, and while that may be slim concilation to those whom this heinous act has affected, it is still not worth the rest of us walking around in fear. Fear means the bad guys win.
  
  Besides, anyone who is “unstable” enough to do this thing in the first place is not going to be detered by kicking him out of his job or school.
  
  I’m sorry AKS. I don’t like this idea. I would rather preserve my constitutional liberties that were won by our forefathers with much blood and treasure. Let us not abandon what it means to be an American because of one person’s crime. That’s what it is, after all; a crime. Not a mental illness or a political revolt or a cry for help. It is murder, and we already have a law against that. He who would break that law would break others too, and additional laws would only overburden the law-abiding population.

  Which version of AVG are you using and is it licensed for remote administration? These would be the first things to check. Also, which port would you like to open? I found several procedures online for opening various ports. In the meantime, I’ll provide you with the link for the AVG technical support FAQ, which is organized by subject. They also have 24 hour live tech support for registered users available on the home page of the link I’m sending you. Have you tried the AVG Configuration Wizard?

  As a matter of fact, jmtsurf, there are proofs for God’s existence, but in order to understand them you have to read some decidedly non-retarded books, such as Aristotle, Aquinas, Leibniz, and Kant—all of whom were able to establish irrefutably that there exists a first cause, an un-moved mover, behind phenomenal existence. This is called scholasticism, and it can advance you to the point of belief with having to accept anything dogmatically or uncritically. The clues as to God’s existence were hidden in the structure of your own reason, so that whether you believed the bible or not, you could still have communion with Him.
  
  I suspect that most people who go around demanding a “proof” for God are either simply ignorant of the facts, or they are being disingenuous. The proofs have been around for millenia, and they are valid.

  QUANTUM PHYSICS HAS BROUGHT US FULL CIRCLE.
  
  Has it? I believe it has, but not in the way that most people would take that statement to mean. I would like to take up the matter, if that’s alright with everyone.
  
  The world seems to be in a condition of chronic misunderstanding concerning the true import, the true implication, of modern physics. No doubt this trend has been aided and abetted by certain popular, quasi-spiritual books on the matter (witness The Tao of Physics, The Dancing Wu Li Masters, etc.); books which capture the imagination with a mysticism supposedly rooted in scientific bedrock, but which in fact are simply one example of that murky, popular syncretism which is the true religion of the contemporary Western world.
  
  However, the blame is not to be levied on these books alone. It is the very essence and intent of modern physics to obscure that which was formerly clear and to introduce, in the place of the exact numerical and conceptual methodology of the Baroque, a corpus of ill-defined, probabilistic treatments that forgo from the outset any possibility of obtaining an exact answer.
  
  How is this to be considered “physics”? It would seem that the meaning of the word has undergone a shift in definition in those years between Maxwell and Einstein. Where formerly it meant the ever-sharpening elucidation of natural phenomena by way of functional analysis, it now has evidently come to mean a mystery religion accessible only to an elect mathematical priesthood, while retaining some social utility as a means for producing pleasurable paradoxes in the minds of the laity by way of it’s compatibility with pseudo-religious bromides, and exploited to no end for this purpose by charlatans of the Wayne Dyer stamp.
  
  I would hold it, then, that modern physics, far from being a continuation of, is actually the decrescendo and finale of the Baroque mechanics, that masterpiece of the Western intellect which is worthy to be ranked alongside the great arts. Beginning with the Second Law of Thermodynamics, and continuing right on up to the present day, not one new development in the theoretical physics has been propounded that was not shear error and treason against the very spirit of physics itself. Entropy, Relativity, Quantum Mechanics, are all anti-physical theories, repudiations of knowledge; a refined form of intellectual skepticism.
  
  It bothers me that characters such as Edward O. Wilson, James Watson, Stephen J. Gould, Richard Feynman, and Stephen Hawking are held to represent the highest intellectual outlook of our time, when in fact they shortly will be superceded by world-historical developments in the field of knowledge that they never could have imagined. More on that later. In the meantime, I would like to briefly address some of those erroneous theories currently held to be truths about the world of nature. Since the topic in this posting is physics, I will leave biology out of it for the time being.
  
  Entropy: The hallowed place that this concept has received in the halls of academia is not due to either its practical necessity or its theoretical justification, of which both are in reality nonexistent, but rather to the sacramental effect it has upon the modern intellect. It is, implicitly, the outlook of pure materialism; a theory by which even time itself can be made subject to the laws of matter. But in doing so it has revealed its own groundlessness. Any and every physical law that can exist must claim to be timeless and universally valid, but entropy introduces into the very heart of physics itself the concept of ageing, as the continuously increasing disorder of a system. But physics, having nothing to do with ageing, ought not to have anything to do with time either. No researcher has hitherto been detached enough from his schooling to perceive that that which he holds to be ever increasing over time is actually nothing more than his own imaginary picture of a quantum of disorder. In other words, it is he himself, his world, and the knowledge-relation he has thereto that ages. The law of entropy is at bottom nothing more than a simple affirmation of the basic fact of organic succession, which modern physics has mistakenly tried to pin down and justify by the use of a number. It is only the extreme dexterity of our theoretical reasoning and experimental technique that covers up the glaring inconsistency.
