  Yes, perhaps. And believe me, life is not all happy until the day I die, I can vouch for that. I won’t be smoking the rest of my life, I know that. It’ll come to an end when it does.
  
  But I can at least say I ASKED to suffer. It’s not just thrust upon me without my consent or allowance. I’m not hurting anyone else, there are some smokers who are selfish about it, but I’m not. So I don’t see how my choices, make me a bad person to other people, or that I need to be felt pity for just because of it.

  I understand every word of your post, and I know EXACTLY how you feel. I lost contact with my father about a decade ago and just this year in March, I attempted to reconcile with him. He hadn’t changed an ounce. My father is an obsessive gambler, he’s also a communist/socialist (fun for the WHOLE family! [/sarcasm]) He blamed everything on my mother, my family, and even proceeded to blame his own mother for the problems he’s made for himself (and she’s been dead for over 20 years…before I was born and before he and my mom married)
  
  I severed ties with him. He went on to this schpiele about I needed to be “re-programmed” again and raised the “right” way. I’m 22 now, too. He bascially was telling me he was disapointed in the person that I am. Because I prefer to live via morals and respect instead of by manipulation and narcissistic humiliation (ala, him)
  
  Honestly, I can’t give you much advice other than get away from him. But then, your situation might be a lot different to mine, even though they sound the same. I just wanted to express that I know the frustration and the annoyance you’re feeling. :( If you ever need to talk, please give me a shout. I know it must suck.

  I respect Rudd in the highest, not only has he pulled back the Troops from a war that shouldn’t have even started anyway, but he’s really making positive changes. Howard was a conviving backstabbing little SOB and I’m still disgusted we as taxpayers are paying for HIS retirement that he doesn’t even deserve. He did nothing for this country except encourage bad facial hair and teen pregnancy.
  
  Rudd has done more to change this country since starting in his term than Howard ever even ATTEMPTED to do through his entire decade of screwing us over. Sure, the corporations love him, sure, he did well for the upper class societies and business moneymakers, but has he ever once apologized for his mistakes? Of course not. Because he’s a right-wing jacka** with no sense of morality. He’s a baptist for Christ sakes! And he sends our brothers, partners, sons, and respectable people to kill people. I swear, him and Bush are having an affair behind closed doors. Thn afterwards, laughing about how much they had us all fooled when the Liberal party covered up the embezzlement deal with the Taliban through the darn wheat board.
  
  Maybe Rudd is a pencil pusher, but at least he’s not a heartless moron.

  I wouldn’t change myself for anyone. However, I guess there are a few things that are exceptions. Like attitudes. I mean if an a**hole doesn’t want to change and it’s annoying his/or partner, then if they don’t change their attitude, chances are they’re going to regret it. I think it also comes with learning from your mistakes too.
  
  But seriously, if you were to change for the person you love or the person who loves you, wouldn’t that defeat the entire point? They wouldn’t be loving you anymore. They fell in love with you because of who you are, changing it, would just create the opposite. And if they’re asking you to change the things you can’t, then really, they never actually loved you in the first place.

  Sounds to me like you’re a workaholic. That can not only be damaging to your physical health, but you’re already realizing what it’s doing in other areas of you life. That’s not a healthy situation to be in.
  
  Perhaps taking others advice her would be beneficial for you. Take that vacation, and let loose for a bit. I hear Bali is nice this time of year.
  
  You’ve already expressed that you’re not happy with the way things are going, so why don’t you move? You also said you’re self-employed, so make vacation time for yourself. That’s the beauty of it.

  It probably means that you’ve torn the lining in your stomach or that you’ve purged so much, that your oesophogas has gotten raw. I suffer from buliemia myself, and it’s a bad situation to be in.
  
  My advice is to stop, but you and I both know it’s your choice to break the habit. Talk to someone, what you are doing is damaging to your body, and will only cause problems in the long run, no matter how it makes you feel right now.
  
  You’ve already gotten the sign that you’re causing harm, and it’s worrying you. Take the hint before it gets worse and you end up in the hospital.
