• I am feeling down again.
  

  It’s important to remember, we aren’t suppose to be happy “all the time” Without the down times we couldn’t ever fully appreciate the good times. So just hang in there and remember “this too shall pass” Try and find a funny show or movie to watch. Actually sometimes when I’m sad, I even pick a sad movie, to remind me their is still joy and preciousness in life in good and bad times.

  You can find people to talk to in here….but I think finding true friends in an online environment won’t be as fulfilling. In life people need to be around other people. You need to find friends you can see, sit with them, pat them on the back, give them a hug, hand them a kleenex when they are crying. It’s also too easy for people online to pretend to be something they are not. Much harder to do in the long run with one on one personal relationships.

  It doesn’t really matter if guys like skinny or fat? What do you like? Put your efforts on pleasing yourself, not others…and everything else will fall in line.

  You know, the good news is…making new friends doesn’t have to be hard. In fact in can be very easy. It is important though to make friends with people you actually want to be friend with. I’m not sure how old you are, or what your current situation is, but one thing runs very true in middle and high school. The people that are most likely to seek you out as a friend, are the people that currently don’t have any friends, and often they are the wrong people to choose as friends. It’s also the easy way out for someone looking to make friends. It might seem easier, or less frightening to try and make friends with someone who isn’t popular, or who doesn’t have any friends, or who even seems to be sort of misfit. In the long run, you’ll pay for that too though. Making friends is easy. Choosing who to be friends with is harder. I’m not telling you to be a snob. That is not at all my intent. But if you choose wisely you will have your friends around for a long time. I’m still friends with the same people I became friends with in middle school and high school. I consider myself very fortunate to have such a great group of friends for such a long period of time. But you ask how? Try this. Look at someone you don’t know, smile and say “hi”. See someone wearing something you like? Tell them you like their shirt, or that the color they are wearing looks good on them. Only do it if you are sincere. But if you think something nice about someone, say it outloud to them. These quick conversation starters, build over time, and soon you’ll find you have more friends than you know what to do with. :)

  You should tell your parents, or if not some other adult you feel you know well enough to trust and who would help you get the help you need. You can’t and won’t forget. These things aren’t just forgotten. But you can heal. The sooner you seek out help from a professional the better. In your therapy were you honest with them about what happened? Are you still going to therapy? You should know just by the term “self harm” that there is no good in this. Your life can be wonderful. Terrible, tragic things happen to people all the time. You have the opportunity to reclaim your life, and help others to do the same. Don’t be a victim any longer. Get help, and if at first you don’t find it, keep looking. There are many people, many places that can help you. You need to make this your number one priority. Help yourself with this situation first, and you’ll be amazed at how other things start to fall in place in your life. I’m sorry this happened to you. Bad things happen to good people. Now what you do with it, is up to you…I wish you the best of Luck.
