  If you do end your life, you will be sentencing everyone in your family to a lifetime of sadness, rage, and disbeleif. Even though you think it may be the only way to “end” your pain, you are not ending it, you are passing it on to all those that care about you. I know when you feel like this it is hard to see that anyone cares whether you live or die, but you need to realize that is not reality. That Is depreesion talking.
  
  I am 39 and have had a lot of struggles in the last few years, and many times thought the same as you, I would rather be dead than to feel this way for 1 more day. But you must realize, even though you feel hopeless right now, what you are going through is temporatry. No matter how bad or awful it may be, in time you will not feel as you do right now.
  
  My marriage of 11 years ended recently and I was devestated and I thought it would be much less painful to just end my life. But from talking to other people on this site as well as the help line listed above I realised my pain wouldn’t end with my life. It would just transfer to my daughters, my parents, my brothers, my sisters, my friends, my aunts and uncles.
  
  Suicide is a PERMANENT solution to a TEMPORARY problem. I know you are probaly thinking that your situation is not temporary. Well I am here to tell you it is. If you stick around, and fight though the sadness and the tears, there is joy on the other side that you can’t even imagine right now as your mind is clouded with depression.
  
  I hope these words of advice are helpful to you, as they were to me when I was feeling as you are. I thank heavens everyday that i didn’t do domething that would torment my loved ones for the rest of their lives.
  
  Hang in there. I know it is difficult, but without sacrifice there is no reward. I promise you, you will not feel as you do right now forever. Life has a way of changing your perspective when you least expect it.
  
  Stay strong, and do the right thing. Use your energy to fight these negative thoughts rather then allowing them to cloud your thinking.

  I agree logics. I am very fortunate that I have 3 healthy young girls. I do my best to not take it for granted. My oldest has severe allergies and asthma, so we have spent a good amount of time at Boston’s children’s hospital. Each time we are there I realise that even though my daughters food allergies ARE life threatening, things could be much much worse.

  Don’t fall into that trap. I was also prescribed ritalin for depression. I took it as directed for the first few weeks, but then I began to abuse it. eventually it led me to the point where I wanted to end my life. The exact opposite of what it was suppossed to do.

  I agree with DM dust. If you can find some common ground with other kids at school, it could be very helpful in your situation. When I was in college, I was older then all of my class mates as I took 6 years off to work and save money to pay for school. When I was in school I felt like I had nothing in common with anyone. Then I started playing football and lacrosse, and even though they were all younger than me, we found that “common groungd” that helps establish freindships. Give it a try, whether it be music, drama, sports, or anything else that will get you interacting with other kids that have the same interests as you.
  
  I hope you do give this a try as I think it could really help you through this tough time. Good luck and let us all know how you are doing

  It sounds like you are suffering from depression and or social anxiety. See your doctor, they can help you get past this.
