  You’re not selfish, and I don’t ridicule you. And I’m an Atheist. Tell me, if there’s no afterlife, what’ll you do, eh? And your family? They’ll just forget about it and live their lives? I mean, if you can’t find the root of your depression, it almost seems like you’re doing it out of boredom. Yes, I’m saying that. I hate to sound mean, but this is the truth. You won’t solve ANYTHING by doing it. You’ll just spread the depression across your family. You think you have it bad? Take a good, long look around the world.
  
  I’ve felt suicidal several times before, but I’ve told myself that I’m no less important than anyone else, and if I want to make myself feel better, I’ve got to make a difference. I’ve got to tell the world what I need to say. How will killing yourself do that? You’re only going to tell everyone that you *can’t* do it.
  
  If you’ve experienced hardships in your life, and you’ve felt depressed, it means that you have something in your life to show for yourself. It proves that you’re stepping into a more realistic world, and seeing more things around you. This is good. Now, tell me, is this a time to commit suicide? When Gandhi got beaten up, did he just give up? When Obama’s parents died, did he give up? When Chris Gardner raised his son and lived in a subway toilet, did he just give up? Look where he is now.
  
  The key to life is finding a purpose. You’ve been given the tools. Only the smart and mature feel this contempt for the world that you’re feeling. It means they’ve experienced more. Now take those tools and USE ‘EM, TIGER!

  It’s funny how capitalists “let slip” the current economic crisis which would not have happened with socialism.
