well where do I start….
things are going well, I havnt had any run ins, though I have been careful.
for the most part my family and friends have been very accepting and havnt challenged me on my standing, it could be though because I dont challenge their standing or go around ‘preaching’.
One of my ‘devout’ friends however has spent many years complaining about god - not her religion - but directly god, just recently she asked me for more info an atheism and I passed on a copy of the god delusion, we havnt discussed it yet, I’ll leave it up to her if she wants to.
I havnt mentioned a thing in front of my mother inlaw though, lol, she already thinks of me as the devils spawn for not going to church so I just play along when she wants to have her prayer before dinner, doesnt harm me none, infact it used to annoy the hell out of me, but since finding my own footing I’ve found I’m better able to tolerate sitting through a session like that.
as for me, I cant believe how many anxieties have simply ‘lifted’
I had a severe preoccupation with death that controlled my waking moments and I feared sleeping cause things got worse for me then, a sunday school teacher once told me if I dont believe in god its a one way ticket to hell, no matter how good of a person I was, I think I really struggled with this because Ive spent so many years just waiting for the ‘call’ so I could be a faithful believer, but I knew it would never come. Now though, I feel much more at peace simply accepting things as they are.
Mind you I still have plenty of demons to chase built up over the years, but this is one huge load off me now :)

Just though I’d check in and ask - how are you dealing with your family/friends? You said that they were quite conservative and you were nervous about “coming out”.
