  I’m not a doctor, but I am married to a man with OCD, bipolar disorder, and anxiety disorder (yes, he HAS been diagnosed), so I know where you’re coming from. My husband is also afraid I’m going to break his stuff.
  
  First, this isn’t anxiety. I see at least 1-2 panic attacks a day and they aren’t caused by breaking something. Plus, you didn’t mention that he even has panic attacks.
  
  It could be OCD. When someone is obsessive-compulsive, they have to have things a certain way at all times, and when something changes (like you break a lamp) it messes up what they’ve decided in their mind is the ‘right way’ (for lack of a better way to say it), and they do everything to get things back the way it’s ’supposed’ to be. Obsessive-compulsive people try their best to keep their world in order, and that could be why he double-checks everything you do, to make sure you don’t disrupt the balance.
  
  You said, quote: “When he has one of these bouts of ‘anxiety’, he turns into another person and it really, really worries me.” THAT sounds like bipolar. My husband is perfectly fine most days, and then during bipolar episodes, he gets irritable and anything I do is wrong. Just a thought.
  
  Overall, I agree with Miss Lillies that you should consult a professional.
  
  Meanwhile, understand that, if your husband really has something wrong with his thought processes, he’s probably not meaning to degrade you. Talk to him about how you understand that he needs things a certain way, and you’ll try to work with him, but also bring it to his attention that he’s making you feel bad about yourself.

  Vitamin E oil is pretty good. Just buy the capsules, break one open, and rub it on the scar. It won’t make it go away totally, but it will fade it over time if you keep applying it once a day or so.
  
  Also, Mederma is for fading scars. I haven’t had much luck with it, though. The Vitamin E was better (and cheaper).

  I don’t know much about travel in Europe, but in the US people are (uh, obviously) traveling less.
  
  The good side is that travel right now is much cheaper than usual because airlines are trying to fill seats and hotels are trying to fill rooms. Now’s a great time to travel if you have any extra cash. :)
