• Can anyone tell me what is so good about the book Twilight?
  

  IN my opinion, that series is not nearly as good as other vampire romance novels, but I suppose some reasons are
  a) Edward is hot, if not a jerk.
  b) There is the occassional funny or likeable character.
  c) The decent plotline.
  
  Basically, it’s the Harry Potter of the vampire romance novel world. It will remain popular to many because of the above and some weird liking for long books (I prefer 250 pages or less myself :p). The first book actually isn’t bad, it’s even pretty good, but I think they spiral after that.
  Then again, everyone is entitled to their opinion.
  If you’re looking for an alternative, Ellen Screiber’s Vampire Kisses series and The Vampire Diaries (I forgot the author… sorry) are fairly good, and they come in a smaller variety with more hairpin turns. :)

  I’ve had friends pull this same ****.
  
  She’s going through a stupid phase– try one last time to talk her out of the older boyfriend and having sex with him and if she doesn’t listen, then you need to tell her firmly that you don’t agree at all with what she’s doing and you can’t hang out with her as long as she continues the behaviour (sounds like you already did that, but she didn’t get the message, it seems).
  It’ll be hard not talking to her for a while, but do let her know that you care about her; you just can’t handle her in this state. This will let her know that, when she gets hurt (and she will) she can come to you.

  *hug* I know exactly how you feel! First, no matter how strong the temptation gets, don’t cut! It’s not worth it. >>ex-cutter Punch a wall or something. :)
  I went through a huge depression and suicidal stage that lasted a little over a year, and I still have relapses. It didn’t “blow over” like my parents said it would. I had to (and sometimes still have to) drag my butt to the school counselor and talk about it. First visit was the scariest experiance of my life, but after that it was fine.
  If you want to talk… IM or email me. I’ll try my best to help you through this. :) You can pull through this– I know because I and countless others have.
