I never really understood gender roles, limiting one’s self by what soceity expects never seemed logical to me, I mean, if people let stigma limit them then there would be no world records, women still would be unable to vote or own land, many of the world’s greatest inventions would have never existed, well you see what I’m saying here…
The truth is, if we limit ourselves by what other’s think or by what’s traditional, our world would never evolve, we would be at a complete standstill with no progress, gender roles are a limitation thus why I find them quite useless, after all, if I had conformed to gender roles I would be dead right now, and no, I’m not joking, if I had conformed to the female role of homemaker and mother who doesn’t question or stand up to a man my abusive father would have killed me, the only way I survived was by fighting back.
