You’re both being ignorant.
People that post on wikipedia aren’t God ordained to do so….?
And I’m not using those words interchangeably…..do you guys even know what “selective reading” is?

you can believe whatever you want.
but its ignorant to believe in half the bible.
thats called selective reading…and its a disorder.
Critical thinking isn’t a disorder. Without it there would never have been a Reformation. I’m done with this argument.
I didn’t say anything about critical thinking…God no, critical thinking isn’t a disorder.
Thank God for critical thinkers!!
I said selective reading sansceriph….don’t put words in my mouth.

You either believe the entire bible is unflawed and perfect…or that the whole thing is rubbish.
Fortunately, no one dictates what I can believe or can’t. If I choose to believe in the divinity of Jesus, and yet think that advising slaves to be obedient and women to be silent is wrong, I can.
you can believe whatever you want.
but its ignorant to believe in half the bible.

the culture in bible days was different. it wasnt slavery as we know it today.
slaves learned to love their masters. as a matter of fact, the culture then was for a slave to do his duty for 6 years and the 7th year he would be released…many slaves, however, went to their masters and said “master pierce my ear, for i will serve no other master” this was an act of love for their master. they would go to the door post of their house and pierce their ear which meant they were a slave to them for the rest of their lives…and they did it voluntarily.
we have no system like this today. things like that were written in the old testament…which is more of a history book than a rule book for our lives.
same kind of thing with women….it doesnt apply to present times and culture.

The people who wrote the bible were ordained by God to write it. Every word of the Holy Bible is divine and exact. God, persay, guided the hand of each scribe.
You either believe the entire bible is unflawed and perfect…or that the whole thing is rubbish.
Believing there are mistakes in the Bible would negate all of christianity.
Thats why I read The King James version.
Its not in its original language…which means that right off the bat, there are certain flaws in the translation, but the KJ version is the closest to its original text.
I disagree strongly with all of the ridiculous versions we have these days though.

learn a word…use it in a poem…then you have to remember what it is
2008-07-01 19:45:29 on Constructive criticism, please?
in that case….enlighten your vocabulary.
the more words you know, the easier it is to write a rhyming poem, from the heart, without messing up the meaning.

haha…not a fan woa?
2008-07-01 19:34:18 on Constructive criticism, please?
the raw passion and love in this poem is great.
my only advice would be….try writing a poem that doesnt rhyme.
having to use words in every line that rhyme compromises the meaning of the poem so much sometimes.
2008-06-29 14:49:38 on I just spent the last few days in Tennessee listening to people talk about only two things, marriage and religion.
I actually live in hell, err, i mean Tennessee.
Probably the biggest thing i hate about living in the “bible belt” is that, according to most christians here, EVERYTHING is settled, or fixed, or answered by “well….God is good”
its the most ignorant, foolish, and useless belief system ever invented.
i hate it.
