Taylorfan, are you the poster?
2009-11-26 15:25:47 on Why is everyone so anti-self harm?
Why do you feel that the responses here are narrow minded?
Why did you feel the need to post your question?
2009-11-24 16:35:31 on I want a hug.
I am so sorry to hear about your loss - I really do know how you feel. It’s so raw now, but it will get better- it really will and then you will remember the v fond and loving memories.
V BIG HUG to you, cause large hugs are needed right now.
Take care x
2009-11-24 15:37:01 on What bothers you?
Social injustice, stereotyping, discrimination, poverty, child abuse, domestic violence, animal cruelty, people who cannot be bothered to do something decent with their lives and feel the need to resort to crime, and the fact that so much money is wasted when it could actually be put to making the world a better place.
Oh, and my bloody computer being on the fritz.
I would like it if every single person in the world had common decency and tried to make the world a more happier place to live - even if it meant just smiling at someone (e.g. checkout assistant, waiter/waitress etc.) and asking them how they are. It’s not a big thing, but I think if everyone did it, it would make a huge difference.
Ditto to all of that apart from the computer bit (my computer is working fine, but I just don’t work well with It cause I’m illiterate on that front :S)
Totally with you about conversing with people you just cross paths with; just being decent to others - It’s not hard, I find it more stressful to avoid being friendly with other people. I can’t help having a conversation with people in a supermarket, petrol station, standing in a queue…etc…And most are friendly back.
We are a social race, we should aim to keep it that way; accepting of others, so we can share and pool our resources.
2009-11-18 14:26:11 on what should i do to not be talkitive?
If you don’t care much for the people who have this opinion, then let it go, forget it.
In the future though, if you are around someone who you do care a lot for, silly is fun and endearing but don’t forget the other person and engage with them too - can still be silly and smart With them, but don’t make it a one man show ;)
2009-11-18 14:17:47 on what should i do to not be talkitive?
Why does it bother them that you are silly sometimes??
2009-11-18 14:13:09 on what should i do to not be talkitive?
Is this a general opinion people have of you, or just some random girls??

Guide to being less talkative…..
First step - Listen to other people
2009-11-16 14:34:19 on hi can anyone help me it regards art
I applied and went to Art College with no prior formal experience at all in Art, just a Big Love of Art. My portfolio consisted of some scraps of paper with ideas, some finished drawings and paintings and just some experimental mark making. They are looking for a passion for Art and a foundation that they can help you work on.
So, I would say, include everything you have done, whatever genre, finished or unfinished. Having unfinished work is not a problem, you are applying for Art College, not a commission and they will be more than happy to see how you approach something and seeing your process of work. Remember they’re looking for potential, not the finished product at this stage. That’s why you are applying for college, to learn more and go on from there.
Also being able to talk about what you like in Art and being able to talk about the work you do - why you like it and where you want to go with it, would stand you in good stead.
Good luck - I hope it works out for you and you get to do what you really want to do :)
2009-11-14 15:27:20 on My pencil magically repaired itself yesterday.
You have far too much time on your hands- But for a potential troll post, your spelling and grammar is remarkably good. So, well done for that.
2009-11-11 16:44:41 on Happy Birthday Miss Enigma!
Have a very happy birthday Miss enigma! Have a lovely day and do all the self indulgent things you have a right to do on a special day like this :)!
Best wishes to you.
2009-11-10 15:33:36 on I’m having a cat emergency:(
Cats are V resilient when it comes to surface wounds. One of mine ripped her leg through to tendons and still managed to climb on top of the kitchen cabinets. She did need to be repaired, obviously, but what I’m saying is that this seems to be a surface wound and if he seems ok for now, don’t worry about it too much and then take him to the vet tomorrow.
He will be ok. It’s not life threatening and he might feel a bit uncomfortable, but he’ll be fine.
Take care, I’m sure all will be ok :)
2009-11-08 14:52:09 on does anyone know what a greek ethos is?
Won’t give you any links, but as a starting point will say that Ethos is about moral competence - behaving and speaking with a strong moral foundation.
Look up some books on Greek Myth and you will read about characteristics (I’m sure you have a library nearby which will suffice). Many sites on the internet (apart from wikipedia) will give you the same info. Have a look at Shakespeare’s tragedies for a view on Ethos and Pathos as an alternative approach.
2009-11-08 13:56:22 on Whats your favourite animal and why?
I find it difficult to chose just one animal. If I had to chose one, I would say that the rat is my favourite (domestic rat, not your stereotypical sewer rat). They are surprisingly very friendly (usually) and extremely intelligent animals.
Aside from that, I would say the cat. They’re independent and fairly calm creatures.
I had a rat a few years ago and he was such a funny, affectionate little guy. Fell asleep on the sofa one eve with him on my lap and he never moved!
Have cats now and they are just great - mine are more like puppies than cats. They like to think they are independent but follow me around All the Time and they cry when the kids go out on their bikes cause they want them to stay around our house.
Was brought up with dogs and love them. I think I agree with Shamimi - you grow to love the animal you spend time with. They’re all lovely in their odd ways, apart from guinea pigs, obviously - they’re boring and really thick.
