Sometimes your WTF folder and Addons folder need to be renamed when you’re out of the game, then when you restart the game WoW will re-create them and fix whatever was causing the problem.
I had a friend who couldn’t get on to our realm for a month - other realms were fine… she renamed her WTF folder to WTF2 and restarted the game and it worked nifty - but she had to reset her macros and chat settings.

Hey there, I play WoW as well, and I blog about it and make videos I love it so much ;)

I’ve got 3 70s - Frost Mage, Hunter and a Healing Priest
It’s a lot of fun, and the social aspect is hilarious but sad at times.

My favorite companions are the ones that come from Special Events like the little reindeer pet I got during Winter’s Veil.
Another great pet is that from an engineer, the crashin thrashin robot - if someoen else has one too, you can have them fight each other and see who wins :)

2008-07-12 13:26:55 on Major problem…
At this point in your life there’s no need to commit 100% to anyone, but figuring out what you want in a relationship takes practice as well.
Talk to your friend down the street - admit how weird it is that you’ve known each other for so long and are now developing stronger feelings, and see how she responds.
If she’s not into it, then turn your attention elsewhere for a little bit - sports, schoolwork, your friends, etc. Sometimes a girl needs a bit of time to think about whether she likes you or not after she finds out you like her… don’t go and wreck it by immediately chasing another girl :)
But then again, don’t get so stuck on one girl that you’re miserable that she doesn’t feel the same! It’s a hard balancing act :)

2008-07-12 13:24:00 on This is a poll:
Girls do tend to like guys who take initiative and have confidence and go for what they want.
But, that doesn’t guarantee anything. Girls also like guys who can take “no” for an answer and not have it destroy them.
Truthfully, the best idea is to look around and not stick to just one girl for attention at this point - if you have a few girls you’re flirting with and enjoying their presense and they yours, then if one in particular doesn’t want to spend time to get to know you, it’s less of an issue to you.
Her loss, then!

2008-07-12 12:40:25 on I just cant do it today I cant be pretend to be all
When I’m in a crappy mood, I still do my best to keep the crappy thoughts out of my head. Sometimes I can listen to some interesting audiobooks (I like lectures and things about how to be successful in life and finances) and focus intently on what they’re saying and just let the bad feeling be part of my intensity to listen.
Lots of people want to spend time thinking about what they don’t want to see in their lives, but I find it more joyful to purposely put my mind somewhere else - but, STAY AWAY FROM OTHERS! :)
Don’t feel bad if you need some “you” time, time alone. Social energy levels are very real and if you try to socialize when you don’t have the energy to do it, bad things will result ;)
Hope you can hide your head in the bed for a day :)

Hey that’s cool :)
It was the server I was assigned to the very first time I connected - I might not have chosen it had I known it was 1h off of my time, but most of my friends aren’t right on with the realm time either so it’s always a confusing discussion:
“Hey, let’s run Ramps tomorrow night on our lowby Outland toons!”
“Sure, when?”
“8 work for you?”
“Yep, works great”
…
next day…
“Hey, you’re early/late”
“What? It’s 8…”
/time
No, it’s not…
Blarg.
Good server tho in terms of active auction house and active LFG tool and lots of raiding going on.

2008-07-12 09:46:55 on Dealing With An Addiction Withdrawal….
Ahh, I hear ya!
One thing I’ve learned about my obsession with World of Warcraft is that it’s part of my personality type, and in order to mitigate that, I turn that personality trait towards things that are healthier and more fun for me whenever possible.
Truly, joining a martial arts club was one of the best things I did for myself - not for the ego boost of eventually obtaining a black belt but because of the healthy lifestyle of those involved and because it was one of the few places in the world where learning to be confident in a positive way is encouraged, instead of looked down upon as “arrogant”.
What I’m saying is this: If you got intense about WoW, you need to find something else that you can get equally intense about, because part of your personality is about intensity, and the WoW was just what you got intense about.
Hope that isn’t too confusing :)

I’ve always had a weird avoidance of talking about “the game” in real life.
But in-game, I also make the distinction rather often of not talking about “real life” either.
I think it’s important to have a variety of friends on and off the computer, and I’m very glad my closest friends are actually NOT gamers, because then I don’t have to tell THEM I don’t want to talk about the game outside of it.
I’m a bit of a nerd but only a bit of one. I still have the facade of a cool chick (who trains karate and has a black belt) when I’m not sitting in front of the ‘puter in my jammies poisoning unsuspecting quest mobs.
