Yes it is, its just more in depth. In fact I got my start programming on a TI 89. As for a few other computer related jobs off the top of my head are network administration (security), digital artiest, and hardware engineer.

I see, do you know if programming on a pc is similar to programming in on a calculator.

Being a programmer isn’t so much about knowing how to use a program as it is knowing how to write a program. When I talk about other languages I mean programming languages like C, C++, C#, and Java. Here is a better list if you want to look through them http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_…

A programming language bridges the gap between what we can easily understand and what the CPU of the computer understands. Be warned that being a programmer requires that you be good at math. If you’re still interested let me know.

For the time it seems for me the best thing is to be like a tutor, someone to teach someone else to use programs. You know, something like word processing or show someone to use spreedsheets, although that one’s been awhile I think I can still manage. As for languages, I learned to speak spanish years ago but didn’t completely finish. For personal reasons I do wish I knew russian and japanese though.

Well what are you looking to program and or what language do you want to learn? Personally I wanted to make games so my focus is in C++, but that’s not to say I haven’t messed around with other languages.

Well…sorta. I have learned to do many things but most of which was just me doing trial and error teaching myself. Long story but I was without a computer for a year and forgot some of what I know but it will come to me as I go.

So yes I do but it’s not perfect.

Hmm, where to start. Well, I heard from a good friend that you know alot about computers. I was thinking of going to college to major in something. A while ago I was thinking of being someone who repairs computers but now it seems that im better at being a programmer.

What im asking is, well actually im not really sure what im asking, I guess do you know where to start.
