I would base any future decisions that I make that include her on her past performance….and tell her that is what you are doing.

It sounds like you really care for this girl and that you are disappointed and saddened to find out that she is a “material girl.” However, she is a spoiled child and you need to treat her as such. Use “tough love” tactics on her if you want to save the friendship; but I personally don’t think that it sounds like it is worth saving for anything beyond occasional acquaintences.

Seriously…I wore second hand clothes all through college. I would go to the Goodwill and get a trashbag of clothes for five bucks.

When I got a “good” job, working at the District Attorney’s office, and I purchased new “court worthy” clothes….I still KEPT some of my Goodwill clothes, because they were GOOD clothes!!!
